God gave John the Book of Revelation while he was on the Isle of Patmos.
In verse 1 it was given “to shew unto His servants things which must shortly come to pass.”
In verse 11 he was instructed to write in a book, “What thou seest.”
In verse 19 he was told to “Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;”

2 Timothy 3:16 says ,”All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”

Above all, the Book of Revelation is the “Revelation of Jesus Christ.” Every prophecy and event reveals Jesus Christ in action in our world and in our personal lives.

While the Book of Revelation, the prophecies of Daniel, Ezekiel, Jeremiah, Isaiah, Joel, and others deal with things past, present, and future, national and world events… Its main goal is to prepare “us” for the divine purposes of Almighty God. They deal with us personally.

It has been two thousand years plus since John wrote the Book of Revelation. If the only reason was so we in the last days could know the event of the future…Why did Peter, Paul, and others in the early church need to know? They needed to know because all scripture was profitable to them. The prophecies instructed their lives in their day as it does ours in our day.
