We’re Stronger Together!

Wendnesday in our Summit class (1st-4th graders) learned that God doesn’t want us to fight our battles alone. In the Bible story from Judges 4, Barak was afraid to go into battle, but God sent Deborah to encourage him and go with him. When they worked together God gave them victory!

To help us understand that, we played the Human Knot Game.

At first, everyone was stuck and tangled. No one could break free by themselves and pulling harder only made it worse!
But when everyone started helping each other, talking, and working as a team… finally, they got untangled!

Just like in the game:

We all get stuck sometimes.

We can’t always break free on our own.

God gives us friends and leaders to help us.

And we can be like Deborah and be encouragers who help others when they’re stuck.

Big Truth: God fights for us but He also gives us people to fight with us. We are stronger together!

This week at Summit Kids, we talked about what to do when things get tough. Start with prayer, always. Just like Elisha did! He prayed, and suddenly God let his servant see this whole army of angels around them. Pretty awesome, right? It’s a good reminder that God’s with us, looking out for us, even when we feel stuck.

We also dug into what worship really means. It’s not just singing (though singing is great), it’s about bringing your heart to God praying, praising, and trusting. We’re encouraging the kids not just to worship themselves but to step up and lead, sing out, set an example, and help others focus on God.

So here’s the big idea: When you hit trouble, pray first, trust God, and worship. He always hears you!

Sunday morning in Summit Kids we dug into Nehemiah 4 and discovered that with God’s help, we never give up!

Our kids heard how Nehemiah and God’s people rebuilt Jerusalem’s wall, even when enemies tried to stop them. Together, they built their own prayer wall, writing down the things they want God’s help with. Then they became Nehemiah’s builders, protecting the wall in a ball game that showed how God gives us strength to keep going when life gets tough.

We ended the morning in quiet reflection, thanking God for hearing our prayers and giving us courage to persevere.

Bottom Line: With God’s help, we never give up!
Key Passage: Nehemiah 4:1–18

Our Summit Kids learned last night that God can help us let go of fear . We looked at the story of Jesus’ arrest (John 18:1–13) and saw how Peter let fear control him, but Jesus trusted God’s plan.

The kids:
Took the Bravery Test Challenge
Learned from the Teddy Bear Talk that God is stronger than our fears
Acted out the Bible story of Jesus’ arrest
Proved their bravery in the Baby Food Challenge

Our memory verse this week was:
“But no weapon used against you will succeed.” – Isaiah 54:17a

Ask your child:
What fear did you give to God tonight?
How did Jesus act differently than Peter when He was afraid?

We’re so proud of these young warriors for being BATTLE READY with God’s help!

Summit Kids Sunday Recap!

Yesterday in Summit Kids, we learned about David and Jonathan from 1 Samuel 19–20. We discovered how true friends help us trust God with courage.

Our memory verse reminded us:
“Be strong and courageous; don’t be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9b (CSB)

The kids made Friendship Arrows and Courage Hearts to remind them that God gives us courage, and we can encourage our friends to be brave too.

This week, ask your child:
“Who is a friend that helps you feel braver?”
“How can you be a Jonathan to someone this week?”

We love seeing our Summit Kids growing in faith and courage!

Summit Kids Recap!

This week in Summit Kids we learned from 1 Samuel about the friendship between David and Jonathan.

King Saul wanted to hurt David, but Jonathan had the courage to protect his friend and even risked his own safety to warn him. Together they trusted God and showed us what real friendship looks like.

The kids got to:

Act out the story with motions and freeze-frames

Play courage games

Make their very own Arrow of Courage craft to remind them that God gives us courage when we need it most

Memory Verse:
“No weapon used against you will succeed.” – Isaiah 54:17a

Family Challenge: Ask your child how they can show courage this week whether it’s standing up for a friend, telling the truth, or praying out loud.

Summit Kids Sunday School

Yesterday morning, our 1st-4th grade kids learned that the Armor of God isn’t just a Bible story it’s something we can use every day.

We talked about how the armor helps us at school the Helmet of Salvation reminding us we belong to Jesus, the Shield of Faith protecting us from lies like “I’m not good enough,” and the Shoes of Peace helping us walk kindly with others.

Together, we created a prayer wall of shields each child wrote or drew something they need God’s help with this week. It was a beautiful reminder that we don’t fight life’s battles alone. God’s armor is for every moment, big or small.
