Romans 8:38

And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God's love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow--not even the powers of hell can separate us from God's love.

Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection are God's provision for the perfect and final sacrifice for man's sins. God requires no other payment for sins! With this provision, mankind is granted opportunity for new life by the forgiveness of sin and escape from its bo***ge. It is ours for the mere acceptance of this gift.

To walk in victory we need to understand that we must give up everything to follow Jesus. This is the condition for discipleship. Look at the words of Jesus, "If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple" (Luke 14:26-27). We should understand that one can be a born again Believer without being a disciple. The word "disciple" means a "disciplined one". Jesus makes his point clear when he said, "So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple." (Luke 14:33). Being a disciple is more than just being a Christian. There may be many Christians, but few disciples. There may be many carnal Believers, but few Believers walk in the Spirit. To be a disciple, we must lay down everything that pertains to our lives. Furthermore, we must be willing to do this every day. Are you willing to do that right now?

1 Corinthians 10:13

No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

Life is not about waiting for storm to pass, it is about how to stand strong and how to make out the best in any given situation.

To have faith is to trust yourself to the water. When you swim you don't grab hold of the water, because if you do you will sink and drown. Instead you relax, and float. I say to all that's going through the issues of life float.

"Count Your Blessings"

Count your blessings, not your crosses; count your gains instead of losses.
Count your joys instead of woes; count your friends instead of foes.
Count your smiles instead of tears; count your courage, not your fears.
Count full years instead lean; Count kind deeds instead of mean.
Count your health instead of wealth; Love your neighbor as yourself. AMEN!

You became imitators of us and of the Lord; in spite of severe suffering, you welcomed the message with the joy given by the Holy Spirit.
—1 Thessalonians 1:6

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

We find it so easy to let our circumstances determine our moods. Paul reminds this group of new Christians under attack that their new life in Christ had brought them joy despite the outwardly harsh circumstances they were facing. Their joy was not the fleeting, circumstance-determined veneer. Instead, they had welcomed the powerful message of salvation with joy! This joy was not dependent upon their circumstances. It was rooted in their Savior's example, in his abiding presence through the Holy Spirit, and the salvation available through Jesus.

Hosea 10:12

Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the Lord, till He come and rain righteousness upon you.

The key to walking in the power of God is submission, or voluntary obedience to the Holy Spirit.

Think of submission as a light switch in our home. Assuming that we have paid the electric bill, there is power coming to our home; but if it’s night time, and the light switch is in the “OFF” position, even though there is power in our home, we don’t have the benefit of light. Turning the light switch to the “ON” position allows us to experience the light that having power to our home gives us access to.

Lack of submission, or disobedience to the Holy Spirit switches our “spiritual light switch” to the “OFF” position; so, even though we have the unlimited power of God residing on the inside of us, we experience very little of the benefits of that power, and, the limited power we do experience is due to the grace of God given to us, in spite of our disobedience.

Our submission to the Holy Spirit turns our “spiritual light switch” to the “ON” position, and we then are in a position to tap into the unlimited power of God.

Of course, none of us could handle the total unlimited power of God operating in us because our physical bodies could not handle it, but how much of the power flow we are able to experience at any given time is determined by the “spiritual regulator” of holiness.

The kind of lifestyle we live is important to the born again believer on a number of levels, particularly as it relates to our fellowship with God. Sin in our lives, with no repentance, is destructive to our fellowship with God, and opens the door to the attacks of Satan.

Sin also hinders the flow of the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Living a holy lifestyle enhances that flow, giving the power of God a pure conduit to flow through.

What is really phenomenal is that we don’t even have to depend on our own power or our own ability to try to live a holy lifestyle. We have the power of the Holy Spirit within to help us, and as we submit to that power, we are empowered to live holy, and the power flow of the Holy Spirit operating in and through us is enhanced and increased.

If we do sin knowingly, or we become aware of unknown sin, we must be quick to repent, so that fellowship with God is restored, and that the power flow is unhindered.

We are empowered by the Spirit of God to do great exploits. Jesus said that the works that He did when He walked this earth, we would do, and even greater, using the power and authority of His Name. He said that powerful signs would follow the believer…, that’s EVERY believer, not just the apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, or teacher. He said that the sick would be healed, the lame would walk, the mute would talk, the deaf would hear and the blind would see. He said that those tormented and dominated by demonic forces would be delivered and set free, by those who believe.

It is time to walk in the power of God; the power that Jesus Christ made provision for, through His death, burial, and resurrection from the dead. For the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead, dwells within us.
