Ephesians: Walk in Love

“The Grace and Glory of God’s Workmanship"

Picking up from where we were last week in Ephesians 2:4-10, we will begin this Sunday by ascending once again to where Paul tells the saints they are seated with Christ in the heavenly places. What does this mean? Does this truth have any impact on our daily living? From this reality we will then enter Paul’s great teaching on grace and works. What is the relationship? What does it mean to be “God’s workmanship?” While this doctrine has been sorely misunderstood, creating great divisions in the church, Paul’s teaching is quite clear, beautiful, and hopeful. Join us as we look to the Holy Spirit to do great works in us this Sunday—continual evidence of our being saved by grace alone.

PCPC wishes you a Happy Mother's Day weekend!

Invite friends and family to worship in-person with us on Sunday at 8:00 (Chapel), 9:30 or 11:00 a.m. or online at pcpc.org/live/, the PCPC App with an iOS or Android device, or YouTube.

"If we have been raised up with Him, then we know that death and sin no longer have dominion over us. And, if we are now seated with Him, our assurance of eternal life and having been grafted into Christ is settled. It is certain." - Eric Horan

Ephesians: Walk in Love

“But God"

With two words, “But God,” Paul dramatically brings the light and hope of salvation into the darkest and deadliest reality. Paul then goes on to describe what happens to the person who is saved by grace through faith. Paul moves forward, detailing the life we now have in Christ as he speaks of our precious union with the Lord Jesus. This Sunday, we will fix our eyes on the three things that Paul says happened to those who are in Christ. These truths move us into a much deeper and transformational understanding of all that is ours in the living, risen, and reigning Lord Jesus.

"But God, the giver of life, who breathed life into the first Adam, also breathed life into the second Adam, resurrected Him, and set Him as ruler above all people and things. So too, we who have been given eyes to see and faith to believe 'have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory' (Colossians 3:3-4). Be stunned by this and immensely grateful." - Amy Tassos

"We will always fall short of fully comprehending the majesty of Christ, but Ephesians 1:22-23 is a reminder that can be a good thing. Christ is always more wonderful than we can comprehend. Jesus is Lord over all, and it is this Jesus who calls us friend (John 15:15)." - Chris Hatley

Ephesians: Walk in Love

“The Head of the Body"

Who is the head of the Church? Over the centuries, this simple question has had a complicated answer. For the Church of England, the supreme governor of the church is the King. For Roman Catholics, the visible and delegated head of the church is the Pope. And for many evangelical Christians today, the head of their local church is the pastor. But in his letter to the church in Ephesus, the apostle Paul tells us that God appointed Jesus Christ "to be head over everything for the Church." Join us this Sunday as we continue our series through the book of Ephesians and find out what it means for Jesus to be the head of the Church, and what it means for us to be His body.

"Like Psalm 103, Ephesians 1 paints an overwhelming picture of the incredible benefits of belonging to the Lord...We sit beneath the waterfall of these blessings and learn that sometimes it is good to feel so overwhelmed." - Ann Higginbottom
