Note: God uses animal imagery to represent characteristics of real people, events and empires. For example, both Ezekiel in Ezekiel chapter 1 and the Apostle John in Revelation chapter 4 see the same vision of a four face angel before God's throne. In Daniel chapter 8, God uses a ram and goat to represent two kingdoms and their leaders. These animal figures represent real historical people, kingdoms and events.
