Pastor Gao Yingjia remains imprisoned in China following a massive crackdown on the unregistered Zion Church. His wife, Geng Pengpeng, says Gao has been writing sermons and poems behind bars—and that other prisoners have noticed the unusual peace displayed by the detained Christians.
Instead of abandoning her faith, she says the persecution has made it stronger.
They imprisoned the pastor.

Now his memoir has landed on an “INAPPROPRIATE BOOKS” list in Texas.
Elie Wiesel's Night recounts the horrors he endured as a teenager in N**i concentration camps. The Christian group behind the list says the objection isn't sexual content—there isn't any—but graphic descriptions of N**i brutality that it believes are inappropriate for younger students.

Communists pressured young people to abandon Christianity. Instead, students started gathering to PRAY.

Under Nicolae Ceaușescu's communist dictatorship, Romanian Christians faced government pressure and restrictions. Yet something remarkable was happening inside evangelical churches.

Reports from the 1970s described packed services lasting three to four hours, intense prayer and churches filled with young people.

In Oradea, Pastor Liviu Olah's Baptist congregation reportedly exploded from about 600 members to 1,500 in just ONE YEAR.

And university students were gathering to study Scripture and pray.
They tried to make faith disappear.

The Khmer Rouge nearly wiped Christianity out of Cambodia.
They failed.

When the brutal communist regime seized power in 1975, Christians were among those swept into years of persecution, displacement and mass killing. Researchers say “virtually all traces” of Cambodia's earlier Christianity were eradicated.
But that wasn't the end.

Surviving Cambodian believers began rebuilding. New Christians emerged. Churches were planted. Decades later, an indigenous Cambodian Christian community is still worshiping Jesus and sharing the Gospel.

They nearly erased the Church from a country.
But they couldn't erase Christ.

Communism tried to push God out of Cuba. Then churches started appearing inside people's HOMES.

For decades after the Cuban Revolution, Cuba officially identified as an atheist state and religious believers faced heavy restrictions.
But something remarkable happened.

By the late 1980s and 1990s, reports described growing Christian congregations and an expanding house-church movement. Believers gathered in living rooms and ordinary homes—and Christianity continued spreading even without traditional church buildings.

The government could restrict religion.
It couldn't stop people from finding Jesus.

The communist government CLOSED their church. Eight years later, there were 11 more.

In 1983, communist authorities in Ethiopia shut down the church where young Christian Girma Bekele worshiped. But closing the building didn't close the Church.
Believers quietly began gathering in groups of just three or four. They prayed. They shared their faith one-on-one. And they kept going.

Bekele says that during roughly eight years of persecution, they planted 11 churches.
They took away the building.
They couldn't take away Jesus.

They were once known as HEADHUNTERS. Then something extraordinary happened in the mountains of India.
For generations, Naga warriors practiced headhunting during conflicts between villages. But beginning in the 1800s, Christianity started spreading through the remote Naga hills. Over time, villages converted, skulls were buried, churches appeared, and the ancient practice disappeared.
National Geographic even interviewed elderly men who remembered taking heads before Christianity reached their villages. Today, Nagaland is overwhelmingly Christian and has been described as one of the most Baptist places on Earth.
Never underestimate how radically the Gospel can transform a culture—and a life.

They can't always walk into a church. So some gather quietly behind closed doors.
Across Iran, Christian converts are meeting in secret house churches to pray, read the Bible and worship Jesus—knowing discovery can bring interrogation, arrest or imprisonment.

No one knows exactly how many believers are worshiping underground. That's part of what makes their story so remarkable.

In places where following Jesus can cost something, people are still choosing Him.
While many of us can open a Bible without fear, somewhere tonight another believer may be opening theirs in whispers.

What if America’s greatest strength isn’t found in Washington at all?
At the National Prayer Breakfast, President Trump declared: “Faith keeps us free. Prayer makes us strong.” He continued by saying that God alone is the author of life and giver of grace.
That message is bigger than politics. Governments have power, armies have strength, but Scripture reminds us where believers ultimately turn.
When life becomes too heavy to carry, we can still kneel before the One who can.
“The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” — James 5:16
America still needs prayer.

The media can spend weeks outraged over politics, celebrities, and social drama… yet seven Christians in Nigeria were reportedly beheaded by Boko Haram and most of the world barely notices. Imagine if this happened to almost any other group. The silence would be deafening. These believers weren’t killed for violence or power — they were murdered because they refused to deny Jesus Christ.

Meanwhile, many American Christians are afraid to even pray publicly or post a Bible verse online. Hebrews 13:3 says, “Remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison.” The global Church is suffering, but faith is still standing strong. Will we stay silent while fellow believers are persecuted for the name of Jesus?
