Apologetics isn’t about winning arguments.

It’s about knowing what you believe, why you believe it, and who you represent when you speak.

You don’t need to be a Bible scholar or have all the answers. You just need to be willing to carry the message and stay connected to the Holy Spirit, who carries the weight.

This week, ask yourself:
“Am I more focused on winning debates… or representing Jesus?”

1 Peter 3:15 (NIV) – “Always be prepared to give an answer…”

“If nobody’s praising God, there’ll be no presence of God.”

Psalm 22:3 says God inhabits the praises of His people. That means when genuine praise goes up, His presence comes down. When the wood of thanksgiving, worship, and adoration is on the altar, the fire has something to burn.

Church isn’t a place to sleep; it’s a house of prayer and praise.

Before you walk into church this Sunday, decide: “I’m not coming to watch—I’m coming to worship.”

Type “I WILL PRAISE” in the comments if you’re committing to bring your own praise and help build an atmosphere where the fire of God can fall.

In the sermon, Brother Smith shared how he came to Christ:

Long hair down to here, boots, Beatles era, no church background. Somebody invited him to a Church of God youth camp in Weatherford, Texas… and he only said yes because they told him, “There will be a lot of girls there.”

But that night, a preacher lifted up Jesus. The Holy Ghost put a magnet on his heart. He didn’t even know what to do at an altar, but he knew I had to get there.

"I walked in singing the world’s songs."
"I walked out singing, “Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound…”"

That’s what the fire of God can do—it takes you from hell-bound to heaven-bound, from lost to found.

Pentecost Sunday ✨

This past Sunday we gathered in worship and thanksgiving, remembering the outpouring of the Holy Spirit as recorded in Scripture. We are grateful for God’s presence among His people and the power of His Word that continues to bring life, truth, and hope.

These photos reflect a beautiful testimony of worship, faith, and perseverance. In every smile, every lifted hand, and every quiet moment before the Lord, we are reminded of His faithfulness through every season of life.

Some came carrying burdens, others walking through health challenges, yet together we chose to worship, not because everything was perfect, but because God is still worthy.

📖 “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18 ESV

We are thankful for His presence with us and for the strength He gives His people to keep praising Him, no matter what they face.

We asked the church:
“How many of you would say, My gas tank’s run out. I used to be brim full and running over, but I’m a little dry today?”

The truth is, even Spirit-filled believers can go through dry seasons. Life, battles, and distractions will drain you—unless you keep coming back to the spiritual gas station of God’s presence.

Ephesians 5:18 says, “Be filled with the Spirit”—in the original language, keep on being filled. It’s not a one-time event; it’s a lifestyle.

If you’re feeling spiritually low, take 5 minutes today to stop everything, lift your hands, and simply pray:
“Lord, fill me again with Your Spirit. I’m hungry for more.”

On Mount Carmel, Elijah rebuilt the altar, placed the sacrifice, dug the trench, poured on the water—and then the fire fell (1 Kings 18).

Many want the fire of God but skip the steps:
- Rebuilding the altar (returning to real prayer and surrender)
- Laying down the sacrifice (offering ourselves to God)
- Digging out the junk (repentance, cleansing, letting God deal with hidden sin)

The fire doesn’t fall on empty, neglected altars. It falls on surrendered lives.

Ask the Lord, “What do I need to dig out so Your fire can fall again?” Then write down one area you’re surrendering to God this week (in a journal—or if you’re bold, in the comments).

Sunday we heard about a wood-burning fireplace at home. At night, the fire burns bright. By morning, it’s nothing but gray ash. All it tells me is:
👉 “Yesterday there was a fire here, but it’s gone out.”

Spiritually, it can be the same. Proverbs 26:20 says, “Where there is no wood, the fire goes out.”

If there’s no thanksgiving…
If there’s no praise…
If there’s no worship…
Then there’s no “wood” on the altar of your heart.
