Update: Texans on Mission volunteers are helping provide relief in Nepal.

The situation in Nepal is dire, and the need is great. Volunteers are currently providing First Step Kits (hygiene kits) and water filters to begin addressing hygiene and clean water needs. The team is also working to provide support physically, emotionally and spiritually.

“What seemed so impersonal a few days ago watching news feeds on tv now has become very real and very personal,” said the TXM team lead. “ … We began immediately implementing some plans that were already in place and others that we made after talking to some local officials and determining some gaps.

“We are well aware that we make the plans, but God determines our steps, and we look forward to what He has in store for the Nepali people here.”

Texans on Mission volunteers have deployed to San Antonio, Texas, to help provide relief after severe wind storms.

A thunderstorm tore through San Antonio leading to winds upwards of 80 mph. The high winds left behind damaged structures and fallen trees. Thousands experienced flash flooding and power outages.

Assessors are on the ground evaluating needs and TXM chainsaw, incident management and feeding teams are serving in the area.

Please pray for San Antonio and volunteers providing help, hope and healing.

It’s week two in Illinois, where Texans on Mission volunteers continue to serve communities in and around Glenwood.

TXM chainsaw teams are working hard through the heat and humidity to help residents recover after being struck by multiple tornadoes, heavy winds and rain.

Some have been without power since August 11. Many are wondering what steps they must take next to tackle the large trees and debris that have damaged their homes and filled their yards.

Despite the challenges, the community is leaning on one another and grateful for the relief TXM volunteers are providing.

“Since Texans on Mission got here, they have been a tremendous help,” survivor Sheila White said. “They are the most caring people out here. I've watched them take care to remove trees off our homes and to not incur more damage.

“They're planning on how to remove things safely, and you can't ask for more than that.”

Janett said she was at a breaking point when Texans on Mission volunteers showed up at her doorstep. They surrounded her with love and support, showing her there is always hope in Christ.

A Texans on Mission Mass Feeding team is on alert to serve following severe storms in San Antonio, Texas.

As of this morning, storm damages that swept through the area Friday night have left nearly 20,000 people without power.

TXM assessors are on the ground evaluating needs.

Please pray for those affected and for volunteers who will serve our neighbors in San Antonio.

Texans on Mission volunteers deployed to Mineral Wells, Texas, to help first responders working to contain the Ross fire.

Firefighters have been working around the clock to prevent the wildfire from spreading. TXM volunteers have set up a laundry site to take care of their laundry as they go.

Please continue to be in prayer for North Texas and for the ranchers and residents affected.

Severe flash floods in Nepal left behind overwhelming amounts of destruction. Texans on Mission Disaster Relief teams are deploying to help meet needs in the communities impacted.

Please pray for Nepal. Devastating flash floods swept through communities, leaving hundreds injured and over 1,400 missing.

More than 390 lives have been lost. Rescue teams are actively searching through mud and water to find those who are missing.

Texans on Mission has been in contact with partners on the ground in Nepal to discuss ongoing needs and ways we can minister and provide relief moving forward.

Pray for strength and endurance for rescue teams and those missing, and for peace for those who have lost.
