Mercy Street Dallas

Mercy Street Dallas Sports. Mentoring. Leadership. www.mercystreetdallas.org We strive every day to empower the next generation of Christian leaders to transform their communities.

Believing youth are the greatest asset for the future of their community and transformation best occurs in the context of relationship, we value people over programs to see lasting change realized. Everything we do exists to cultivate mutually transforming relationships with inner-city youth through Christian Mentorship

We believe true and lasting change will be brought about by the residents, pa

rticularly the children, of this community. Mercy Street's hope is to raise a new generation of leaders from the community to be the change agents of tomorrow. Sometimes an infusion of hope and help from the outside is all that is needed to make a monumental difference. That is where our mentors, coaches, and volunteers come in. They are tasked with being an encourager, friend, and advisor to the children over the course of many years. Mercy Street also seeks to be "incarnational" in our ministry efforts, meaning we relocate to the place where we minister in order to put flesh on the redemptive message of the gospel. Whether a physical relocation (like most of our staff) or a mental relocation (like most of our mentors), we invite everyone to take on the cares and concerns of the community as their own. We believe this is part of “loving our neighbors as ourselves.”

At Mercy Street, we prayerfully work together to push back against the thorns and thistles that have taken root in West Dallas so that God's Kingdom reign might be evident. Urban decay points to spiritual decay. As Christians it is our delightful responsibility to enter into the dark places of the world and let the light of Christ shine. Light always repels darkness. Join the movement and shine the light of Christ in our community.

Over the weekend, we celebrated a milestone that deserves to be honored in a big way. 🎓 Congratulations to Mercy Street mentee, Edgar, on graduating from high school today and becoming the first in his family to do so. This is a huge accomplishment, one marked by perseverance, growth, hard work, and the faithfulness of God over his life.

We also celebrate the commitment, love, and steady presence of his mentor, Brian Roy, our Director of Sports Operations. Brian’s investment in Edgar reflects the heart of mentoring at Mercy Street: showing up, walking alongside, speaking life, sharing Jesus, and believing in the purpose God has placed in each young person.

Mentoring is not a program on a calendar. It is a mutually transforming relationship where lives are shaped, faith is strengthened, and the future of generations are changed!

Edgar, we are so proud of you. Your Mercy Street family is cheering you on as you step into this next chapter with courage, confidence, and purpose. God is not finished writing your story!

😄 Yesterday’s Mercy Street Staff Retreat was a meaningful reminder that we do more than work together—we walk together, worship together, encourage one another, and stay united in a shared mission to serve West and South Dallas children and families with excellence and love.

We are deeply grateful to a generous donor who made this day of rejuvenation, connection, laughter, and reflection possible by sowing back into the team that pours so much into others every day. What a gift it was to pause, recharge, and celebrate the people behind the mission.

We left refreshed, encouraged, and even more committed to the work ahead!

⚾️ Baseball Championship Day was a success! Congratulations to our Minors and Majors division champs, pictured here celebrating a great season of teamwork, growth, and hard-earned wins.

We are also grateful for Coach Gabe, a new Dodgers coach from Watermark Church who stepped in this year to lead and encourage our players. His parents came out to support championship day, and his mom even wore a shirt with a picture of Gabe from when he was a little Dodger himself. Full-circle moments like that remind us how special this community is.

Thank you to every coach, parent, volunteer, and player who helped make this season meaningful!
