It was a blessing to connect with Dr. Leroy R Armstrong Jr, Executive Director of The Clamp Center for Preaching Excellence and Director of The Center for the Study of African American Preaching, this week.

We are grateful for the opportunity to discuss a potential partnership between Texas Baptists African American Ministries and Clamp Divinity and how we can work together to strengthen and equip pastors and preachers.

The NAACP will be onsite at Recharge helping eligible students register!

Recharge is about equipping the next generation to live out their faith, use their voices and make a meaningful difference in their communities.

And students aren’t the only ones being equipped. This year will also include a special Pastors Track created to encourage and strengthen leaders serving the local church.

Students empowered. Pastors equipped. Churches strengthened.

Make plans to be at Recharge and invite someone who needs to be in the room!

When a listening session turns into a signing day…🙌🏽🔥🙌🏽

Today, we welcomed 7 DFW-area pastors to the Texas Baptists office for our first African American Ministries Pastor Listening Session!

We spent the day listening, building relationships and sharing how Texas Baptists can partner with and strengthen local churches. We’re grateful for Dr. Ward Hayes, Dr. Craig Christina, Dr. Julio Guarneri, Sergio Ramos and our various ministry teams for sharing about the Cooperative Program, Dominion First, our Texas Baptists structure, GC2 design and resources available to churches.

And the BIG blessing? Three pastors were ready to officially join the Texas Baptists family today! 🙌🏽🔥

Thank you to Pastors Quincy Randall, Pastor Stephen Chuck Nash, Pastor Chambless McNeil, Dr. Marlow McGuire, Dr. Patrick Moses, Pastor T. J. Patterson Jr. and Pastor Garry Marshall for joining us, and to our African American Ministries team for making today possible!

This was the first, but it won’t be the last! We’re looking forward to taking these listening sessions across the state as we strengthen a multiplying movement of churches together.

Congratulations to Pastor Michael A. Evans, Sr. on celebrating 35 years of faithful pastoral leadership at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Mansfield! 🎉

For 35 years, Pastor Evans has faithfully served, led, preached, and poured into the lives of God’s people. We are also incredibly grateful for his many years of service and the significant contributions he has made to Texas Baptists and African American Ministries, helping strengthen churches, encourage pastors, and advance Kingdom work across Texas.

We celebrate Pastor Evans, his family, and the entire Bethlehem Baptist Church family on this incredible milestone.
