Today, Texas Baptists African American Ministries attended the African American Fellowship of West Texas meeting in Lubbock.
It was a blessing to connect with pastors and leaders who are faithfully serving churches across West Texas. During the meeting, Carlos Francis, director of Affinity Relations, shared an update on Texas Baptists and expressed our gratitude for the continued partnership with the fellowship.
Marcus Wilson, African American Ministries specialist, also shared helpful resources for churches, including KingsCover, as well as upcoming opportunities like WAVE Camp and Recharge. Pastor R. L. Johnson, vice president of the African American Fellowship of Texas and pastor of Rising Star Baptist Church - Rockdale, provided information related to the state fellowship. We were encouraged by Craig Curry, director of missions of Lubbock Area Baptist Association and grateful for the opportunity to listen to the West Texas fellowship share areas where support, training and resources are needed.
Thank you to Pastor Kenneth Jackson, president of the fellowship and pastor of New Light Baptist Church, Kenneth O. Jackson Pastor, the officers of the African American Fellowship of West Texas and Shiloh Baptist Church for hosting such a meaningful and encouraging meeting.
Together, we are better equipped to live out the Great Commission and Great Commandment as we help churches make disciples and multiply ministry across Texas.
