The Salvation Army Women's Ministries Texas Encompass opportunities for women to be valued, encouraged, and equipped through Christian faith

Vision Statement
The Salvation Army Women’s Ministries encompass various opportunities for all women where they are valued, encouraged, equipped, and invited to catch the joy through Christian faith and fellowship. Our mission is to provide opportunity to win women for Christ and assist in their spiritual growth; nurturing an awareness of the needs of the family, the community, the nation, and the

world. The Salvation Army, an evangelical part of the universal Christian church established in 1865, has been supporting those in need in His name without discrimination for 129 years in the United States. Nearly 30 million Americans receive assistance from The Salvation Army each year through the broadest array of social services that range from providing food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless and opportunities for underprivileged children. 82 cents of every dollar spent is used to support those services in 5,000 communities nationwide.

"Tuesday our Women’s Ministries – Home League enjoyed a beautiful graduation program filled with joy, laughter, and sweet memories. 💐🎓
The ladies brought in their graduation photos and we had a wonderful time trying to guess who was who—such a fun trip down memory lane! 😄📸
We also shared a delicious lunch together, enjoyed warm fellowship, and closed our time in prayer, giving thanks for God’s blessings over each life represented. 🍽️🙏
What a special day of sisterhood, encouragement, and celebration! 💖✨" - The Salvation Army - McAllen, TX

🙏 What would happen if an entire territory committed to prayer—24 hours a day, 7 days a week?

In this episode of Youth Down South, Emma is joined by Major Anne Westmoreland and Alina Pawar to discuss the new 24/7 Territorial Prayer Initiative launching at Commissioning. Together, they explore the vision behind this powerful movement, why prayer is essential to spiritual growth and ministry, and how youth, leaders, corps, and families across the Southern Territory can participate as we journey toward the Centennial.

Whether you have prayed for years or are just learning how to talk with God, this conversation will encourage you to deepen your prayer life and become part of something bigger than yourself.

We may say that we trust God to provide for our family’s needs, but our actions show that we’re afraid to surrender and actually trust Him.

What might happen if we aligned our hearts and actions with Scripture?

In Psalm 27:1, David proclaimed: “The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” If we also believe that God is all of that in our lives, why do we rely on ourselves to keep everything together?

Do you feel most comfortable when you’re the one in control? How often do you release the reins on everyday tasks and allow others to help you, trusting that God has control over that too?

Control can feel comforting, but it’s a fragile substitute for trust.

To realign our hearts to trust God more than ourselves, we need to recognize that our need for control might be rooted in fears that God doesn’t have our best interests at heart, that He won’t come through, or that He doesn’t care. A good place to start is by speaking Psalm 27:1 aloud when our need for control arises. We can proclaim that our Father is our safe space and our salvation. We don’t need to fearfully control everything because He’s already holding it all together for us and wants what’s best for us.

I agreed to that camping trip after all … and it was worth every moment.

What is one thing you can do this week to release control and allow someone to step in and help?

"Creativity Was Buzzing at The Salvation Army Northwest Corps!
Last week, The Salvation Army Northwest Corps came alive with imagination, color, and creativity during our exciting Bee Creative event!
Participants had the opportunity to express themselves through hands-on activities, connect with one another, and explore their artistic talents in a fun and welcoming environment.
Events like Bee Creative remind us of the importance of providing opportunities for individuals and families to discover new skills, build confidence, and strengthen community connections. It was wonderful to see so many creative minds come together and showcase their unique talents." - The Salvation Army Houston Northwest Corps
