Former inmates are more than the worst decision they ever made.

Sometimes we can look at a person’s past and forget that God still sees purpose.

Yes, choices have consequences, and accountability matters. But a mistake, a charge, a sentence, or a season behind bars does not have to become someone’s permanent identity.

At ROD, we get to witness what can happen when men are given the opportunity to grow, take responsibility, rebuild relationships, and discover who God created them to be.

We see fathers being restored.
Families being strengthened.
Faith being developed.
Men learning that their story is not over.

That is why prison ministry matters to me.

Because I believe in a God who still restores, still redeems, and still gives people another chance to walk in purpose.

“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” — Romans 8:1

They are more than their past.
They are more than their mistakes.
They are more than their worst decision.

There is still purpose on the other side. 💙

⛪ 5 Things Churches Can Do Today to Support

Churches, we do not have to wait until we have a large budget, a new ministry, or everything figured out before we start helping. There are simple things we can do today to support individuals and families impacted by incarceration. 💙

Pray intentionally. Welcome people without judgment. Become a mentor. Help create real opportunities. Partner with ministries already doing the work.

Sometimes restoration begins with one person deciding to show up, listen, encourage, and give someone room to grow.

We cannot only preach about second chances. We have to be willing to participate in them.

“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up.”
1 Thessalonians 5:11

🚫 MYTH: People coming home from prison do not want to work.

✅ FACT: Many are ready to work, rebuild their lives, support their families, and prove that their past does not define their future.

The truth is, finding employment after incarceration is not always easy. A person can be qualified, dependable, and willing to work, but still be denied because of one box on an application.

At ROD Ministries, we believe restoration must include opportunity. A job is more than a paycheck—it can provide stability, rebuild confidence, strengthen families, and help someone move forward with purpose.

Everyone deserves the opportunity to show who they are becoming. 💙
