As we begin Pride Month, we give thanks for the gifts and stories that shape Oak Lawn UMC. This Sunday during Pride Worship, we will dedicate a beautiful new artwork created by our own Mark Mullino—a canvas rendering of our iconic church steps that will hang in the second-floor art hallway.

More than a painting, this piece is a reminder of the countless people who have found welcome, belonging, healing, and hope on these steps. Together, we will dedicate it to the future generations of Oak Lawn UMC, trusting that God's love will continue to meet people here for years to come.

Today is Trinity Sunday, when we celebrate the mystery of God as Creator, Christ, and Holy Spirit. In Genesis, we encounter the God who brings life from chaos and calls creation good, while in Matthew's Gospel, the risen Christ sends us into the world with a mission of love, justice, and discipleship. As people created by love, sustained by grace, and empowered by the Spirit, we gather to worship the God who calls us into community and sends us out to share hope with the world. Christ's promise remains with us today: "I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

Join us this Sunday at 11:00 a.m. as we celebrate Trinity Sunday!

Together we'll explore the story of creation in Genesis and Christ's call in Matthew to go into the world with love, compassion, and hope. Created by love, sustained by grace, and empowered by the Spirit, we are reminded that God is still at work bringing life, community, and possibility into the world.

✨ Everyone is welcome.
✨ Todas las personas son bienvenidas.

We are heartbroken by the loss of Sylvia Collins following yesterday’s tragedy in Oak Cliff.

Sylvia was a true friend, a tireless advocate for justice, and a beloved ministry partner whose work touched countless lives across Dallas. Through her leadership and partnership with Workers Defense and so many community efforts, she stood alongside workers, immigrants, and neighbors seeking dignity, opportunity, and hope.

Her voice, compassion, and commitment to building a more just world will be deeply missed. We give thanks for her life, her witness, and the many ways she helped shape our community for the better.

Please join us in holding Sylvia’s family, friends, colleagues, and all who loved her in prayer during this difficult time.

Who you are is who God needs.
Who you are is beloved.
Who you are is a gift to this world.

May we be a Pentecost people—celebrating diversity, making room for every story, and trusting that the Spirit still speaks through many voices today.

Three voices. One Spirit.

A dramatic reading of the Pentecost story reminding us that the miracle was never forced sameness — it was that every person heard the good news in the language of their own heart.

In a world full of noise, division, and pain, the Spirit still speaks through many voices… calling us toward belonging, understanding, and love.
