Religion without Christ!

I was scrolling through the streets of Facebook on Saturday morning when I came across a post that caught my attention. The writer expressed anger toward pastors and church leaders for not telling her what she believed was the full truth about the Bible. She had recently discovered that there were books not included in the Bible and felt confused about everything she had been taught concerning God and Scripture.

I read the post twice. At first, I wanted to be upset with her, but then the Holy Spirit convicted me. The reason I have understanding in matters like this is because I have a relationship with the Trinity.

Here is a fundamental truth: your pastor will teach what they believe to be true, often based on what they believe the Holy Spirit has revealed to them. For those who genuinely walk with God, there is a sincere desire to communicate His truth. However, the Bible does not tell us to accept every teaching without question. It says to test all spirits.

Parents today have a tremendous responsibility. Church leaders, Sunday school teachers, and other spiritual mentors certainly have a role to play in teaching children, but the primary responsibility for raising your children in the ways of the Lord rests on you.

Instead of introducing church to your children first, introduce Christ to them.

Growing up, our morning and evening family devotions were where we learned about Christ, His character, His desires, and what He required of us as His children. I was less than ten years old when I began to understand Psalm 1 and its warning against walking in the counsel of the ungodly. I learned at a young age about Christ's sacrifice for me. Those lessons came from home, not from church.

Everything I later learned as a Christian in church was built upon the foundation already laid at home. Because of that foundation, whatever happened within the church, including what many today call church hurt, never shook my faith. I understood that everyone in the church, including its leaders, is human and is being shaped by God through the conviction of the Holy Spirit, provided they yield to Him.

I have never assumed that everyone who attends church or even every church leader has had a genuine encounter with God. Some, like me, grew up in church, but they mistakenly assumed that faithful attendance and adherence to religious rules automatically made them followers of Christ. Unfortunately, this is true for many children and young adults today.

Many are leaving the church because their faith was built on the words of a church leader rather than on Christ Himself. Many who call themselves Christians display behavior that is deeply troubling because they have mistaken church involvement for a genuine encounter with God.

Learning about someone and encountering someone are two completely different things. You can know facts about a person without ever having a relationship with them.
There is much more that could be said on this subject, but the most important thing is this: make sure you have a personal encounter with Christ.

When you are deeply rooted in Him, no biblical teaching, controversy, or confusion will easily sway your faith. Your foundation will be secure because it is built on Christ and not merely on people.

And parents, please make it your priority to teach Christ to the children God has entrusted to your care. That is your first responsibility. The church can only build upon the foundation that you have already laid.

Seek the One whose approval doesn’t fade with the noise.

God has not forgotten you!

He works slowly when what He’s building needs to last. His silence isn’t rejection, it’s redirection. Sometimes He’s working so carefully on your behalf that He can’t stop to explain it, because the explanation only makes sense when the work is done.

I pray the Lord protects you from the very things you’ve been asking for, the ones He already knows would hurt you. Because what is coming is better than what you are asking for.

What is built to last is never rushed. It grows in the dark, in the slow, in the waiting. Every delay is not a denial. Some delays are divine interruptions, quietly saving you from a future you cannot see. God isn’t ignoring you; He’s editing your story, removing the chapters that would have destroyed you.

Trust the process. Trust the silence. Trust Him.

Our Flaws for His Glory

I came across a story in Nicky Gumbel’s devotional that has stayed with me ever since.

A water bearer carried two large pots suspended from a pole across his shoulders. One pot was flawless — it arrived home full every single time. The other had a crack, and by the time the journey was done, half its water had seeped into the ground. This went on for two years.

One day, the cracked pot finally spoke. “I owe you an apology,” it said. “I have failed you. Because of my flaw, you’ve only received half of what I was meant to carry. You deserved full credit for your labor, and I have robbed you of it.”

The water bearer smiled and said, “Look back at the path we walk every day. Did you notice the flowers blooming on your side, and only your side? I knew about your crack from the very beginning. So I planted seeds along your path. Every day, without even knowing it, you’ve been watering them. For two years, those flowers have graced my table. Without you, exactly as you are, that beauty would never have existed.”

What a picture of grace.
The cracked pot spent two years in what it called bitter shame, convinced its flaw was nothing but loss, waste, and inadequacy. It measured itself against the perfect pot and found itself lacking. But the whole time, something beautiful was growing precisely because of the crack.

That is exactly how God works.
He does not wait for you to be whole before He uses you. He does not set your imperfections aside until He finds something better to work with. He plants along the path of your weakness, knowing full well where every crack lies, and He waters the seeds of purpose through the very places you are most ashamed of.

Your flaws are not an obstacle to God’s plan. They are part of it.

The wounds that left you feeling disqualified? He has been growing something through them. The limitations you have apologized for? He anticipated them before you ever carried the pole. The ways you feel you have only delivered half, half the energy, half the confidence, half the output that others seem to manage with ease. God has been making that half count in ways you cannot yet see from where you stand.

You do not have to be the perfect pot to have a place in His household. He takes particular delight in the cracked ones , because it is through the cracks that living water reaches the ground, and it is in that ground that He chooses to plant His most beautiful things.

So do not carry your imperfections as shame. Carry them as the water bearer carried his pot, purposefully, faithfully, one day at a time, trusting that the One who knows every crack in you has already been gardening along your path.

He uses your imperfection to perfect His glory.

A PRAYER FOR NIGERIA

Father, we come before Your throne with heavy hearts.

The cries of Your people are rising to Heaven, from churches invaded by darkness, from families whose children were stolen, from families who cannot sleep because their beloved ones are still missing.

Lord, You see every face. You know every name.

For the souls taken from us, those who were simply gathered in Your house to worship, we ask for supernatural comfort for every family left behind. Wipe every tear. Hold every broken heart. Be close to those who cannot breathe through this grief.

For those still in captivity, move, God. Confuse every plan of the enemy. Dispatch your angels. Make a way where there seems to be no way. Let every captive come home safely, in Jesus’ name.

And Father, deal with the perpetrators with Your justice. Let no weapon formed against Your people continue to prosper. Dismantle every network of evil. Expose them. Stop them.

Nigeria is Yours, Lord. Rise up for this nation in Jesus name!

Prophetic Declarations for June

The One who breaks open the way will go up before them; they will break through the gate and go out. Their King will pass through before them, the Lord at their head. — Micah 2:13

We step into the month of June with thanksgiving, expectation, and confidence in Your unfailing power. In the name of Jesus, we declare that June is our month of the "Breaker Anointing." Every spiritual gate, administrative bottleneck, and invisible barrier that has held back our progress is collapsing right now in the name of Jesus.

We declare that where we experienced heavy resistance in the first five months of this year, we will experience supernatural acceleration this month. The obstacles of our past season are becoming the stepping stones of our current advancement. We are stepping out of containment and into a spacious place of freedom and influence in the mighty name of Jesus.

We declare that our season of hidden labor and unrecognized tears is transitioning into a season of public fruitfulness. The seeds of prayer, faith, and hard work we have sown in secret are rupturing the soil to bring forth an abundant harvest. We declare fruitfulness over every area of our lives. Where there has been dryness, let there be rain. Where there has been emptiness, let there be abundance. Where there has been waiting, let there be manifestation. We speak life to every seed You have placed in us. Every buried promise shall spring forth. Every prayer watered with tears shall produce a harvest in the name of Jesus.

We declare and decree the total breaking of every form of barrenness in our lives in Jesus name. The power of stagnation and empty seasons is entirely broken by the blood of the Lamb. We speak life to every seed You have planted in us. Every buried promise shall spring forth. Every prayer watered with tears shall produce a harvest.

We declare resurrection life over every dead dream, every dry womb, every dormant talent, and every exhausted resource. We will no longer be called forsaken or empty in the mighty name of. Jesus.

We declare that June is our month of divine visitation. The Lord is stepping into our situation personally to fulfill promises that have seemed delayed or dead. We declare sudden turnarounds. What looked like a permanent delay will suddenly manifest as a divine setup. God is changing scenarios overnight, shifting alignments, and moving people to favor us. Whatever has been unproductive in my life will begin to yield. Whatever has been stagnant will move forward. Whatever has felt forgotten will be remembered by God in the mighty name of Jesus.
