25 YEARS LATER. WE REMEMBER. 🇺🇸

September 11, 2001.

Nearly 3,000 lives lost. Families changed forever. First responders running toward danger. Ordinary people helping strangers. A nation trying to understand the unimaginable.

Today, on the 25th anniversary of 9/11, we remember those who died at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and aboard Flight 93.

We honor those who served.

We hold in prayer the families and survivors who have carried September 11 with them for 25 years.

And we pray for peace—not simply as something we hope for, but something we are called to practice in the way we love and care for one another.

We remember. We pray. We choose love.



Take a moment today to remember a life, say a prayer, or show kindness to someone around you.

Today, we honor the work of our hands—and the people behind the work.

Labor Day gives us an opportunity to recognize the teachers, caregivers, first responders, healthcare workers, tradespeople, business owners, ministry leaders, parents, volunteers, retirees, and so many others whose daily work helps our communities flourish.

At King of Glory, we believe our work can be one of the places where faith becomes tangible—where we serve generously, love our neighbors, and use what God has placed in our hands for good.

So today, may you find time to rest. May you celebrate the work you’ve accomplished. And may you remember that your contribution to your family, workplace, church, and community matters.

💜 International Overdose Awareness Day | August 31

REMEMBER WITHOUT STIGMA. SUPPORT WITHOUT JUDGMENT. LOVE WITHOUT CONDITIONS. 💜

Today, on International Overdose Awareness Day, we remember the lives lost to overdose, hold close the families and friends carrying their grief, and stand alongside those impacted by substance use and recovery. August 31 is recognized globally as a day of remembrance, awareness, and action to help end overdose.

This year's theme, “25 Years On. Still Needed.”, reminds us that the work continues—and compassion matters.

At King of Glory, caring for one another means showing up in life's hardest moments. Through our Care Ministries and Stephen Ministry, trained and compassionate people are available to listen, walk alongside you, pray with you, and provide support through grief and difficult seasons.

There is no shame in needing care. There is no shame in asking for help. And no family should have to carry grief alone.

💜 Today, we remember.
💜 We pray for those grieving.
💜 We support those in recovery.
💜 We choose compassion over stigma.
💜 We hold onto hope.

Joyful Spirit is an inclusive and welcoming worship service for everyone!
All ages are welcome, along with any and all forms of disability, we are all children of God and Joyful Spirit invites you to come as you are to worship the Lord through joyful noise and fellowship.

Joyful Spirit meets every Sunday at 5pm in the KOG sanctuary, led by Rainey Smith, with music led by Allie Becker.
Communion is served using the sacraments blessed during the 10:15am worship by the Pastor, and all are welcome to participate.
The livestream takes place on the last Sunday of each month.

💙 THERE IS ROOM FOR GRIEF AT H.O.M.E.

Today is National Grief Awareness Day.

Grief doesn't always look the way we expect. It can be an empty chair. A relationship that changed. A chapter that ended too soon. A dream that didn't happen. A transition you weren't ready for. Or simply missing someone you love. And grief doesn't follow a timetable.

At King of Glory, we believe being H.O.M.E. means creating a community where we can bring our whole selves—the celebrations and the sorrow.

That's why ministries of care matter.
💙 Our Care Team helps surround members of our community with compassion and support.
🤝 Stephen Ministry offers a caring presence for those walking through difficult seasons.
🙏 Healing Prayer Ministry creates space for prayer and God's healing presence.

This is CONNECT in action: people walking alongside people. This is GROW in action: trusting that God remains present even in the valleys. And sometimes Hands On. Hearts Open. Lives Changed. looks very simple:

Call someone.
Sit with them.
Listen.
Pray.
Remember.
Be present.

💛 National Grief Awareness Day
We’ll also recognize those carrying grief in its many forms. Through Care Ministries and Stephen Ministry, KOG continues to walk alongside people through loss, transition, and difficult seasons.

Harold Huddleston will preach at our inclusive evening worship experience. Joyful Spirit will also be streamed, so you can worship with us in person or online.
