Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Incorporated (ΙΦΘ) is a traditional BLACK GREEK LETTERED fraternity. It was founded on September 19, 1963, at Morgan State University (then Morgan State College) in Baltimore, Maryland, by 12 men (giving the organization the distinction of having more founders than any other NPHC fraternity) and is the fifth largest Black Greek Lettered Fraternity. Like the other NPHC organizations, Iota Phi Theta's founders were extremely devoted to Civil Rights and energizing the movement. Many early members of the fraternity were also actively involved in the Black Power and Pan-Africanism Movements.

Members of the close-knit afrocentric fraternity proudly embrace the organization’s youth, uniqueness, individualism (stereotyping discouraged) and modern idealism. As a contemporary organization, many members have had the great honor of meeting, fellowshipping with, and/or engaging in personal or virtual discussions with one or more of their founders.

Today there are over 300 undergraduate and alumni chapters (including colonies), as well as colonies located in 40 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, The Bahamas, Colombia, South Korea, and Japan.

Some notable members include, Living Single’s Kyle Barker actor, TC Carson, Basketball Greats Elvin Hayes and Calvin Murphy amongst others

FAMILY AFFAIR PART II
Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated (ΖΦΒ) is an International TRADITIONAL BLACK GREEK LETTERED sorority the only one of its kind to be constitutionally bound to a brother organization in that off Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated. These two organizations are the only true brother and sister organizations in all of greek-dom.

Founded at Howard University in Washington, DC, five young women envisioned a sorority that would raise the consciousness of their people, encourage the highest standards of scholastic achievement, and foster a greater sense of unity among its members. They believed that sorority elitism and socializing overshadowed the real mission of progressive organizations.

Since its founding, and just their brothers did Zeta Phi Beta focused on addressing social causes that often led to the organization being cited as the “FIRST TO…” Amongst these, being the first BGL sorority to charter a chapter in Africa, organize Adult and youth auxiliaries, and the first to bring its chapter operations under a executive directorship and an established headquarters.

Today, the non-profit 501(c)(7) is divided into eight intercontinental regions with over 800 chapter located in the US, Africa, Europe, Asia and the Caribbean.

FAMILY AFFAIR PART I
Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated (ΦΒΣ) amongst it many other accomplishments, is the only TRADITIONAL BLACK GREEK LETTERED FRATERNAL ORGANIZATION to be constitutionally bound to a BGL Sororal Organization in that of Zeta Phi Beta (ΖΦΒ), Sorority, Incorporated. The two are the only true BROTHER & SISTER organizations in all of Greek-dom.

Founded on the campus of Howard University in Washington DC, on the principles of Brotherhood, Scholarship and Service, three young black male students, A. Langston Taylor, Leonard F. Morse, and Charles I. Brown, were eager to establish an organization that would exemplify the ideals of an inclusive perspective to serve the community, as opposed to having an exclusive purpose. With nine other charter members committed to exemplifying the same, the fraternity exceeded the prevailing models, becoming the first to erect alumni chapters, youth mentoring clubs, a federal credit union, chapters in Africa, and a collegiate chapter outside of the United States, that currently supports a membership of more than 200,000 men in over 700 chapters in the United States, Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Caribbean.

During the first two years post its founding, the fraternity organized and maintained a Sunday school program, led by A.H. Brown; and opened a public library and art gallery, which became the foundations of the Benjamin Banneker Research Society and the Washington Art Club, respectively.

Some notable members include, US President Bill Clinton, Rev. Al Sharpton, and football great?Emmitt Smith, among others.

CHANGE Agents
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated (ΔΣΘ) was founded on January 13, 1913. Focused heavily on CHANGE, this BLACK GREEK LETTERED ORGANIZATION, was interested in more than simply looking different, but moving in a different direction; so by much so, a few of its founders were former members of Alpha Kappa Alpha.

The 22-woman force created their organization with roots in sisterhood, scholarship, service, and social action. After the successful charter of their alpha chapter in February, 2013, they charted their first social action of CHANGE, by marching with other Howard University students in the collegiate section of the Women's Suffrage March in Washington, D.C., on March 3, 1913.

The sorority had expanded with each chapter having to secure its own charter. However, on January 20, 1930 all chapters would come under the authority of the GRAND CHAPTER, via incorporation, and today the organization is the home of 350,000 initiated women and over 1,050 chapters located worldwide.

Some notable members include US Representative, Jasmine Crockett; the incomparable Angela Bassett, and the Queen Soul, the late Aretha Franklin, among others!
