With deep sorrow and heartfelt sympathy, we regretfully announce the passing of our very own Deaconess Velma Jean Thompson. She was a faithful servant who worked diligently in many capacities within the church, often giving of herself without regard for recognition. Her quiet strength, servant’s heart, and unwavering dedication to the work of the Lord were a blessing to our church family and all who knew her.
During this time of loss, we ask that you keep her beloved husband, Deacon Jimmy Thompson, along with the entire Thompson family, lifted in prayer. May the peace and strength of God surround them in the days ahead.

“Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord… that they may rest from their labors, and their works do follow them.” (Revelation 14:13)

With heartfelt sorrow and abiding faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, we announce the passing of our beloved Sister Bennie Mae Estes.

Sister Estes completed her earthly journey and entered into eternal rest, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and strength. Her life was a living testimony of God’s grace — marked by her gentle spirit, steadfast devotion, and the many lives she touched through her kindness and service.

Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice in knowing that she is now at peace in the presence of the Lord, where “God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.” (Revelation 21:4)

We ask that you keep the Estes family in your prayers during this time of transition, that God’s peace would surpass all understanding.

With great anticipation, we are overjoyed to announce Rev. Rolondo J. Donaldson has been prayerfully and unanimously selected as the Pastor-Elect of North Park Missionary Baptist Church.

As we move forward together in Christ, let us remain steadfast in prayer and united in love. The future is bright, and we are excited to see what God will do through this season of vision and leadership. Please keep us in your prayers.
