Mary’s Church in New Haven and some of his parishioners, the Connecticut state legislature on March 29, 1882, officially chartered the Knights of Columbus as a fraternal benefit society. The Order is still true to its founding principles of charity, unity and fraternity. The Knights was formed to render financial aid to members and their families. Mutual aid and assistance are offered to sick, dis

abled and needy members and their families. Social and intellectual fellowship is promoted among members and their families through educational, charitable, religious, social welfare, war relief and public relief works. The history of the Order shows how the foresight of Father Michael J. McGivney, whose cause for sainthood is being investigated by the Vatican, brought about what has become the world's foremost Catholic fraternal benefit society. The Order has helped families obtain economic security and stability through its life insurance, annuity and long-term care programs, and has contributed time and energy worldwide to service in communities. The Knights of Columbus has grown from several members in one council to more than 14,000 councils and 1.8 million members throughout the United States, Canada, the Philippines, Mexico, Poland, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Panama, the Bahamas, the Virgin Islands, Cuba, Guatemala, Guam and Saipan.

It was a wonderful morning of good food, fellowship, family, and service. To our Brother Knights and Ladies Auxiliary members who attended or volunteered: thank you for helping make the breakfast such a welcoming community event.

For our next breakfast, we have a simple challenge: bring one more! Invite a fellow Knight, Auxiliary member, parishioner, friend, neighbor, or family member to join you. Whether you help serve, welcome guests, or simply enjoy breakfast together, your presence strengthens our community.

Let’s fill the room next time! Please share this post, tag someone you would like to bring, and make plans to join us. We would love to see you there!

Our Sunday morning Coffee and Donut Holes Ministry needs new volunteers. Several of our longtime volunteers are retiring, and we need your help to continue offering this special time of fellowship after Sunday morning Masses.

The work is simple: help prepare and serve fresh coffee and donut holes, welcome parishioners, and assist with light cleanup. You do not need to volunteer every Sunday. Our goal is to create rotating teams so the commitment remains easy and enjoyable.

Individuals, couples, families, friends, and parish ministry groups are all welcome. No experience is needed, and guidance will be provided.

Please help us continue this valued Sunday morning tradition!

To volunteer or learn more, contact GK Philip Muscat via email at [email protected]. OR BETTER YET... visit us on Sunday morning and speak directly with one of our current volunteers!!
