HAPPY 66th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY TO MY ONE & ONLY & THE LOVE OF MY LIFE,
AL GRUSH, Jr.
This will be the very first time in 66 years that I Al and I have been separated on our wedding anniversary. For the last several days, I was first in Regional hospital, and I’m now in a rehab facility in Kilgore for approximately 10 days of intensive physical and occupational therapy. So whatever happened to that happy little couple on that hot summer day in 1957. Let’s take a look:

“It was 66 years ago today, August 10, 1957, that Al & I exchanged Wedding Vows at Christ the King Catholic Church in Kilgore, TX at 3 pm.
It was a very hot summer day, but who noticed the heat? We enjoyed a very nice wedding, and I was told by many that it was one of the prettiest weddings ever at Christ the da CC a effective King. After the wedding, we went to the Community Inn for our wedding reception where we
enjoyed a very nice reception. Afterwards, we were off to Shreveport, Louisiana, for the first leg of our honeymoon to Florida. Al planned our entire Honeymoon. We stopped in Alabama at Joe’s Spaghetti House, and we have never duplicated the meal that we enjoyed there! However,
I did learn to make delicious meatballs from Al’s mother, and so the tradition of spaghetti and meatballs continued throughout the years. It was about a year and a half later after our wedding that our first child and daughter was born, Mary Genevieve Grush. Then we welcomed Lori Lynn, Al Grush lll,
Anthony Grush, and Andy Grush.
God has been so good to us—- letting us see our children grow up and have families of their own. We have been so blessed with eight wonderful grandchildren, Al Grush, IV , Amber Grush, Lindsay Jones, Christopher Jones, Nolan Grush, Braden Grush, & Pepper Rusher, and 11 wonderful, great-grand children—Palmer, Sophie, Georgia, Hall, Henry, Hudson, Seth, Luke, Layla, and Scarlett and Noah. We thank God for each of these special little blessings. Our daily life continues and God continues to bless us each and every day. I know my love continues to stand by my side, and we continue to enjoy each other and our beautiful big family. We are blessed!!! We are thankful!!! My grateful thanks to Almighty God and to my awesome family.
