Grace is sometimes talked about as if God simply decided sin was no big deal. The cross tells a very different story. Sin was serious enough to require the death of Christ, and grace was powerful enough to provide what we could never provide for ourselves. Grace doesn’t make sin smaller; it shows us how great the love of God really is.

People rarely tell you everything they’re feeling in the first sentence. Anger may be covering hurt, silence may be hiding fear, and frustration may be coming from disappointment. If you’re already preparing your response while someone’s talking, you may completely miss what they’re trying to say. Slow down and listen long enough to understand.

It’s easy to say we care about people when caring doesn’t interrupt anything. Real compassion usually costs time, convenience, money, energy, or attention. Jesus didn’t simply notice hurting people; He moved toward them. If our compassion never moves us to act, we should probably ask how deep it really is.

Real worship doesn't require everything to be going well. It's easy to praise God after the answer comes, but worship deepens when the prayer remains unanswered, and we choose to trust Him anyway. Worship doesn't deny pain, disappointment, or uncertainty. It declares that God is still worthy in the middle of all of it.

TIP TUESDAY: Your phone is constantly telling you what to fear, what to want, what to be angry about, and what success is supposed to look like. If you spend hours every day absorbing those messages, they’ll affect the way you think whether you realize it or not. Pay attention to what you’re feeding your mind. If the world gets most of your attention, don’t be surprised when it starts determining your values.
