For 25 years, this special event has brought our community together to make a meaningful impact — raising more than $600,000 to support nonprofit organizations and children in our community. This year, we continue the tradition with a day of friendly competition, connection, and giving back.

Join us this upcoming Sunday for Reverse Tashlich!

Reverse Tashlich is an innovative approach to Jewish environmental stewardship. In the ritual of Tashlich on Rosh HaShanah, we go to a body of water and symbolically cast our "sins" into the water to begin the New Year with a clean heart. With Reverse Tashlich, we’re turning symbolism into action by removing human "sin" from the water.

Reverse Tashlich provides an opportunity to come together and engage in a hands-on effort to clean up our beaches, rivers, and shorelines, removing the plastic, trash, and other debris that threaten marine ecosystems and our planet's health.

Back to School Bash was incredible! With over 100 people attending, including new and prospective families, students got to meet their teachers and catch up with old friends! Between baking, blowing bubbles, and blowing the shofar, the festivities were fruitful. Don't forget the Kona Ice!

Thank you to everyone that was able to attend, and we are grateful for those that helped make this event possible. As the religious school year draws closer, we can't wait to welcome our amazing students to 5787.

One of the things I love most about Temple Shalom Religious School is that we are always changing and growing. Every year, we listen carefully to our learners and families to make changes that help our programs remain joyful and relevant.

Many of the changes coming this year were inspired directly by our learners. On the final day of school, 3-6 grade learners shared questions they are wondering about Jewish life. Their wonderings will help shape new explorations in our curriculum, including deeper learning about prayer, blessings, Hebrew, Jewish identity, and the stories of the first Jewish families.

What a WONDERFUL Shabbat! Friday night was incredible, and it was full of celebration. We opened our doors to prospective members, with many new families attending! We are always looking to have people join our community, and if you have interest, please feel free to reach out to Monica Susman at [email protected].

Our community also celebrated milestone birthdays and anniversaries, congratulations again to those who we celebrated!

We also had Senior Rabbi Paley bless all of those heading back to the classroom. We pray for a year of success, safety, love and learning!
