We all want lasting freedom from problems and pain. This can only happen within the space of a clear, open and patient mind.

Normally our need to escape from unpleasant feelings is so urgent that we become impatient and reactive, not giving ourself the time to discover where the suffering is actually coming from.

At such a time, we may think that things should be different from the way they are, and blame circumstances or other people for our unhappiness. For most of us, this is a very old habit.

Patient acceptance, on the other hand, gives us clarity and spaciousness of mind to see what is really binding us, and creates the space for practical solutions to arise.

It is very important to identify the actual cause of whatever unhappiness we feel.

If we are forever blaming our difficulties on others, this is a clear sign that there are still many problems and faults within our own mind.

✨ INTRODUCTION TO BUDDHIST MEDITATION: THE FOUR NOBLE TRUTHS IN MODERN LIFE✨

🗓️ Saturday, Sep 12 | 10:00AM – 1:00PM
🕸 In-Person or Online for KMC Texas Monthly Members

The Four Noble Truths are the foundation of Buddha's teachings. They are the pillars of Buddhist spiritual life, helping us to recognize our problems and their causes; to find direction in our daily practice; to maintain a correct motivation; and to achieve the results we desire.

In this special course our Resident Teacher, Gen Kelsang Wangpo, will share how even in our modern society we can find the practical application of Buddha's most important teachings.

This course is a great introduction to Buddhist teaching and meditation, and it is suitable for everyone, regardless of background or experience.

Everyone Is Welcome!

✨DALLAS | THE ANATOMY OF MEDITATION: BUILDING A BETTER MEDITATION PRACTICE✨

🗓️ Thursdays, Sep 3 to Sep 24 | 7:00PM – 8:15PM
🕸 In-Person or Online for KMC Texas Members
📍 1875 Laws Street

Our body as a whole functions because of its many parts. In the same way, there is an anatomy of meditation — certain parts that connect to each other to bring strength to our meditations. We can think of the different qualities and skills we need to develop as being like the parts of the body of our meditation practice.

If you want to improve as a meditator, this series of classes is an excellent opportunity. Each week we will focus on a different part of meditation and how we can improve it.

🪻Join us for any — or all — of the classes.

If you have a strong wish to follow the spiritual path that Buddhism presents, then this book-study program may be perfect for you 💚

Join us at the regular Foundation Program (FP) class time to find out more about studying with us. We will have answers to any questions about joining FP 🍃

In the Fall 2026 section of Foundation Program, we will be learning about the mind of definite emergence. This phrase is not one we come across outside of Buddhism. It is the meaning of renunciation, and it signifies one of the most important decisions we can make - the decision to become free from all suffering by freeing ourselves from the causes and origins of suffering 🐢
