🪷 A Gentle Buddhist Reflection on
Right Speech
In Buddhism, words are not meant to be weapons of anger, ego, or harm. The Buddha taught that speech should be truthful, compassionate, beneficial, and offered at the proper time.
Before reacting, arguing, gossiping, or speaking from anger, pause for one mindful breath.
Ask yourself:
Is it true?
Is it kind?
Is it beneficial?
Is this the right time?
Not every thought needs to become speech.
Sometimes silence is the deepest form of wisdom.
Right Speech (Sammā Vācā) is part of the Noble Eightfold Path — a practice that helps cultivate more peace within ourselves and with others. 🪷
May our words become instruments of peace, not harm or suffering.
