THIS IS THAT FIRE 🔥
Pentecost was not a onetime moment. It was the initiation of a movement.
Acts 2 shows us that the Spirit forms us, fills us, and flows through us.
1. HE FORMS BEFORE HE FILLS
“They were all together in one place.” (Acts 2:1, ESV)
God works in order, not chaos. Before the fire fell in Acts 2, God was forming a people in Acts 1. The Spirit does not bypass preparation. He shapes us before He sends us.
2. HE FILLS WHAT HE FORMS
“And it filled the entire house…” (Acts 2:2, ESV)
The Spirit first filled a house of gathered saints, not isolated individuals. Revival does not pull us away from the church. It creates greater devotion to the house of God.
Isolation extinguishes what community sustains.
3. HE FLOWS THROUGH WHAT HE FILLS
“…tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them.” (Acts 2:3, ESV)
120 gathered.
120 tongues of fire.
God has a flame for you.
God wants to flow through you.
There is a purpose to this fire. Not to make us strange, but to make us bold witnesses filled with the Spirit of God.
So the question becomes:
Are you willing to let the Spirit of God…
• Form you?
• Fill you?
• Flow through you?
Not a wildfire.
Not strange fire.
But His holy fire.
THIS IS THAT FIRE. 🔥
