What a blessed Sabbath in East Texas! 🙌🏾🔥

Our Executive Secretary, Pastor Jason C. North, Sr., and his wife, Angie North, had the privilege of worshiping with the Sharon SDA Church in Tyler, Texas, for their District Day alongside their sister church, Emmanuel SDA Church in Marshall, Texas.

Under the leadership of Pastor Andrew Mpita, along with his family, the district enjoyed a full day of worship and fellowship. Pastor North shared the Word during the worship service, followed by a wonderful fellowship lunch and an inspiring evening AY program.

This district is on the move, and we praise God for what He is doing through these congregations! Please keep Sharon and Emmanuel in prayer as they prepare for their upcoming revival meetings. We are believing God for lives to be changed, souls to be won, and the kingdom to continue advancing! 🙏🏾

Today, August 17, 2026, marked the first day of school across the Southwest Region Conference, and we are praising God for an incredible start to the new academic year! We extend our heartfelt appreciation to our Pastors, Educators, School Boards, Constituent Churches, Parents, and Students for their tremendous work, commitment, prayers, and support in preparing for this school year. Adventist Education is one of the four major emphases of our Conference’s “Moving Southwest ‘4’ Ward” initiative, and we are excited to announce that our conference-wide enrollment surpassed 400 students on Opening Day!

Consider what God is doing:

2021 Enrollment: 211 students�2025 Enrollment: 267 students�2026 Opening Day Enrollment: 400+ students!

That represents an increase of more than 50% over last school year and more than 90% over the past five years! And there’s more!

For the first time in recent memory, two of our schools have reached triple-digit enrollment: 1) Excel Adventist Academy – Houston: 133 students, up from 40 last year! 2) Southwest Christian Academy – Dallas: 100 students, up from 56 last year! To God be the glory!

And we’re not finished yet! This is only Opening Day, and Bethel SDA School in Texarkana will begin its school year on August 24. We are continuing to plan, prepare, pray, and believe that God will send even more students through the doors of our schools. We believe in Adventist Education because we believe in educating children not only for success in this life, but for eternity. We stand on the promise of Isaiah 54:13, “And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children.”

God is blessing our schools.�God is growing our schools.�God is sending us students.�And by His grace, we’re just getting started!
