Announcement: I am glad to share that Bishop Cynthia Fierro Harvey has appointed me as the next pastor of Saint Paul’s UMC in Kerrville, Texas, effective July 1, 2025. I am grateful to my bishop and the Rio Texas Conference cabinet for this appointment. Beth and I look forward to getting to know the members of Saint Paul’s UMC and beginning a new relationship with the church and the community in Kerrville. My introductory meeting with leaders of the church left me feeling hopeful and excited about the possibilities God has in store for us.

I share this announcement grateful also for the four-and-a-half years of exciting and fulfilling ministry at Casa Emanu-El UMC in Dallas. I cherish the loving and supportive relationships that developed during my time as pastor at this historic church. Departure from a trusting and supportive community brings some sadness, but those feelings are balanced with feelings of joy and gratitude for the many ways God has manifested God’s grace and mercy during our time together.

I dedicate myself to preparing Casa Emanu-El UMC to receive its new pastor and to make the transition between pastors as smooth as possible.

God is a God of endings and new beginnings. Let us rejoice in God’s ever present grace in all things.

Anuncio: Me complace compartir que la obispo Cynthia Fierro Harvey me ha nombrado el próximo pastor de la Iglesia Metodista Unida de Saint Paul en Kerrville, Texas, a partir del 1 de julio de 2025. Agradezco a mi obispa y al gabinete de la Conferencia de Río Texas por este nombramiento. Beth y yo esperamos conocer a los miembros de la IMU de Saint Paul y comenzar una nueva relación con la iglesia y la comunidad en Kerrville. Mi reunión introductoria con los líderes de la iglesia me dejó sintiéndome esperanzado y emocionado por las posibilidades que Dios tiene reservado para nosotros.

Comparto este anuncio agradecido también por los cuatro años y medio de ministerio apasionante y gratificante en la IMU Casa Emanu-El en Dallas. Aprecio las relaciones de amor y apoyo que forjé durante mi tiempo como pastor en esta iglesia histórica. Dejar una comunidad de confianza y apoyo trae algo de tristeza, pero esos sentimientos se compensan con alegría y gratitud por las muchas maneras en que Dios ha manifestado su gracia y misericordia durante nuestro tiempo juntos.

Me dedico a preparar la Iglesia Metodista Unida Casa Emanu-El para recibir a su nuevo pastor y a facilitar al máximo la transición entre pastores.

Dios es un Dios de finales y nuevos comienzos. Regocijémonos en su gracia siempre presente en todas las cosas.

Announcement of the Death of Juanita Santillan from Her Son Paul Santillan:
January 28, 2025, is one of those days I will remember for the rest of my life. To all the friends and family who have known and cared for my mother, Juanita Santillan, first of all, I want to thank you for your prayers, your kind thoughts, your calls, cards, visits, gifts, and many beautiful flowers. It is with a broken heart that I share the news that my mom, our mom, a wonderful, compassionate, generous, forgiving, kind, caring, intelligent, happy, elegant, beautiful and always smiling soul passed away last night.

We had a great celebration for her 95th birthday, January 18th. We thank God for the blessing to have had her in our lives for such a long time.

Es con el corazón roto que comparto la noticia de que mi madre, nuestra madre, un alma maravillosa, compasiva, generosa, indulgente, amable, cariñosa, inteligente, feliz, elegante, hermosa y siempre sonriente falleció anoche.

Tuvimos una gran celebración por su 95 cumpleaños, el 18 de enero. Agradecemos a Dios por la bendición de haberla tenido en nuestras vidas durante tanto tiempo.
