It is with profound sorrow that the East Gate Baptist Church family joins countless believers across the nation in mourning the passing of Rev. Dr. Anthony E. Sharp, I, esteemed Pastor of Tabernacle of Praise Baptist Church and President of the National Missionary Baptist Convention of America, Inc.

Dr. Sharp’s faithful leadership, unwavering commitment to the Gospel, and devoted service to the Kingdom of God impacted churches, pastors, and communities far beyond the walls of his congregation. His voice, vision, and servant-hearted ministry will be remembered as a lasting contribution to the body of Christ.

Our church family is especially grateful for the longstanding friendship shared between Dr. Sharp and our founding pastor, H.D. Reagan. Through the years, the fellowship between Tabernacle of Praise and East Gate Baptist Church reflected the unity, love, and mutual respect that Dr. Sharp exemplified throughout his ministry. Those cherished relationships and shared moments of worship and ministry remain a treasured part of our church’s history.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Sharp family, the Tabernacle of Praise Baptist Church family, and the leadership and membership of the National Missionary Baptist Convention of America. We pray that God’s abiding presence will bring comfort, strength, and peace during this season of bereavement.

As we celebrate Dr. Sharp’s life and legacy, we give thanks for his faithful witness and the indelible mark he leaves upon the Kingdom of God. His labor was not in vain, and his influence will continue to inspire generations to come.
