The woman stood alone in the center of the courtyard while an angry crowd demanded judgment.

She lowered her head, expecting the worst.

Then Jesus stepped between her and the crowd.

He did not shout.

He simply spoke one sentence that made everyone stop and think. The people who had been so certain of their judgment slowly lowered their hands and began walking away.

Jesus pulled him backward just before the tree crashed onto the path. The young man stood frozen for a moment, realizing how close he had come to being seriously hurt.

Instead of making the moment complicated, the story ends with one simple exchange. He thanks Jesus, and Jesus reminds him to be grateful for the life he has been given.
