🏈 Tomorrow is Tailgate Sunday! 🏈

NFL kickoff week is here, so we’re bringing a little football energy to church tomorrow! But this Sunday isn’t just about football. It’s about celebrating YOU. 💙

We’re taking some time to appreciate all of the volunteers who make so much of what we do at Daleville Community Church possible. From community outreach and Next Groups to Sunday mornings and everything in between, so much happens because people are willing to show up, serve, and be part of it.

Tomorrow we’ll have games, prizes, lunch, fellowship, and plenty of gratitude as we celebrate together! 🙌

So come ready to hang out, have some fun, eat some good food, and maybe settle a few very important football-related debates. 😂

Today, we remember.

We remember where we were, who we were with, and the stories that have stayed with us through the years. We remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the courage and compassion that emerged from such a heartbreaking day.

We share those memories with one another and pass them on to a generation who will learn September 11 through history and through our stories.

It was a dark day, but darkness does not have the final word.

We remember a God who draws near to the brokenhearted, carries us through our hardest moments, and remains faithful through every generation. Our hope is in the Lord.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18

May we continue to tell the stories, honor those we lost, and hold onto the hope we have in Him.

Did you know we have a new round of Next Groups starting this month?

Beginning THIS Sunday, we will be starting a new session of Rooted. This is a 10 week series that will explore the foundations of Christian faith, hear stories from the global church, spend intentional time in Scripture and prayer, and practice spiritual rhythms that can become part of our everyday lives. This is GREAT foundational Bible study with the goal of building spiritual disciplines you can use to grow your faith deeper! Sign up here to be part of this group - sign ups are in the comments!

Beginning Monday, we have a group that will be going through a series on The Beatitudes called "Becoming Like Jesus." The Christian life is a lifelong series of highs and lows that the Holy Spirit uses to shape us into people who look like Jesus. In this 6 week series we will walk through Jesus’s beatitudes found in Matthew 5. As we live out our Christian faith, Jesus develops in us a new way of living so we can be people who reflect God's kingdom.

And last, but definitely not least, on Thursday night, our Heroes and Legends group started their new set of sessions going through Marvels: The Cataclysm of Kang. This group goes through a tabletop adventure game where you walk through a story of your own design. Our game master has taken this group through multiple campaigns, and shows us that faith can be shared through all avenues! This new adventure is just getting started, so don't be afraid to join in the fun!

Today's Serve Sunday was incredible!!

Our church family and community came together to:
- write letters of thanks, encouragement, and kindness to first responders and friends
- help a lady in town with continued flood cleanup
- create 25 meal kits for The The HUB's food pantry
- clean up, make repairs, and get ready for the fall & winter at The The HUB
- feed the people who served today

Thank you for those who served and donated! We love this community and we are blessed to be able to give back!

Shoutout to the Daleville Daleville-Salem Township Fire Protection Territory for joining us for this Serve Sunday! Thank you for serving this community in so many ways!

Happy first day of September! 🍂

It’s kind of wild how quickly things can change. A new month, a new season, different things happening around us, and sometimes even our own lives can feel like they’re changing faster than we can keep up with.

Some days feel peaceful. Other days feel a little more like chaos with a side of “okay, what now?” 😂

But through all of it, God stays the same.

Hebrews 13:8 reminds us:
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”

The seasons change. Circumstances change. We change. But His love, His character, and His presence don’t.

Here’s a September question for you: What is one thing in your life that feels uncertain or changing right now, and how can you remind yourself that God is still steady in the middle of it? 🍁

Happy September, Daleville! We’re praying this month brings plenty of good things, and that even in the changing seasons, we remember who never changes. ❤️

We’re continuing to help our community as folks begin cleaning up, resettling, and figuring out what comes next after the flooding. ❤️

The Hub will be open for food and supply distribution this week!
