Garwood Baptist

Garwood Baptist We are a Southern Baptist Church. Our mission is to know Christ and to make him known. Our services are traditional, but informal.

Garwood is a church of people who come from different backgrounds and circumstances, but with a common belief in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. We desire to know him better by studying his word and to honor him through our worship. On Sundays, we meet for Sunday School at 9:45 a.m, followed by Morning Worship at 11. Both of these services focus on teaching and worship for the entire family.

Then, we close the day with Bible Study at 7 p.m. On Wednesday evenings at 6, we have a time of prayer and Bible study. Kevin Carpenter, a graduate of Liberty University and Seminary, has been Garwood's pastor since June 2016. We are thankful to have him and Nicole, and their children, Eden, Emma and Elijah, serving with us.

Homecoming Sunday, September 13th, will be a time for old and new friends to get together to celebrate God's continuing faithfulness to Garwood.
After the service, which will start at 11 a.m., we will rebury the time capsule from the founding of the church. A fellowship dinner will follow at the Pavilion.
So, mark the date on your calendar and invite a few friends. It will be a day that you won't want to miss.

We're drafting for Garwood's Fantasy Football season this Sunday at 6 p.m. And if you're interested in joining us, please let Pastor Kevin or Rachel Cardinale know.
But just a warning: if you talk to him about fantasy football, he will tell you about all the ways he's going to beat you. Trash talk in Christian love is one of the best things about our drafts. So, come and have fun.

Any day we can worship together is a good day.
Join us for Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. and Morning Worship at 11.
A nursery with a sitting room will be available during the 11 a.m. service. Also, there will be Children's Church for elementary schoolers.
Pastor Kevin Carpenter's sermon will be, "Harnessing the Power of the Tongue - Taming the Tongue," based on James 3:1-12.

If you've ever wanted to come back to Garwood, or just check out what the church is about, Homecoming Sunday, September 13th, will be a great time to be here.
We'll be reflecting on the past, celebrating the present and anticipating the future.
Along with the service, we will be reburying the Time Capsule from the founding of the church. Then, everyone is invited for a Fellowship Lunch at the Pavilion.
