Let’s rejoice together as on April 25th, 2026, we had 40+ pastors and church leaders graduate from the first conference program over the last four years in Tanzania! We had representatives from Rafiki, Ubora, and most major denominations in Northern Tanzania. We praise God for the excellent team work everyone has put in to bring us to this day. Pray for these students, that God would use them as I charged them today to be like Apollos, who was “mighty in the Scriptures” (Acts 18:24)! To God be the Glory. Soli Deo Gloria!

Last month we launched a new teaching site for the TBI Conference in a town called Kakumiro, Uganda! 🇺🇬 After the second day, most of the students shared that they never knew that the Son and the Holy Spirit were all divine in substance, power, and glory. What a privilege to teach of such sacred truths to our brothers and sisters in Western Uganda!

Meet Godfrey Seuya!

We’re excited to introduce Godfrey Seuya, who has been faithfully serving with TCWM since 2022 as our Country Director in Tanzania 🇹🇿

Godfrey’s journey with TCWM began in November 2021 when he was invited to interpret at the very first conference class. At the time, he was studying theology in college and had previously served as the head of a Christian school connected with a U.S.-based organization. During that conference week, he met TCWM leaders and began learning more about the ministry’s heart and vision.

The following year, after meeting Pastor Doug and seeing how closely TCWM’s vision aligns with the Great Commission, Godfrey knew this was where God was leading him to serve.

Godfrey and his wife have been married for 21 years and are blessed with two wonderful daughters, Faith (20) and Gloria (15) 💛

When asked what he loves most about TCWM, Godfrey shared, "The vision—one that aligns with the Great Commission."

Godfrey also occasionally teaches for TCWM, and his favorite topics are church planting and leadership—areas he is deeply passionate about.

We are so grateful for Godfrey’s leadership, faithfulness, and heart for the Church in Tanzania! 🙌

In one of the reports recently sent to us regarding a TBI Conference, it was said, “The class ended with a great discussion in which our students were affirming the great need to study Scriptures always, preach the Gospel, pray and submit to the Holy Spirit as per the Word of God.” This is exactly what we long for our students to know and walk away with as most important. We praise the Lord!

About a month ago, TCWM Rwanda had the joy of hosting a Church Planting Conference. Dr. Luiz shared that it was a precious time of teaching, encouragement, and strengthening of local leaders, with a focus on the faithful and biblical expansion of the church. Join us in praying for the Church in Rwanda!

In March, Ben Nelson, TCWM VP for Curriculum and Teaching, traveled to Tanzania to teach The Doctrine of God and Scripture. Ben taught foundational truths through units such as The Self-Revelation of God, The Names of God, The Attributes of God, and The Trinity of God, as well as key themes like God’s acts of creation and redemption, general and special revelation, and the authority of Scripture. The students were thoughtful, engaged, and hungry to learn. What a joy to see God’s Word taking root in such a powerful way! 🙌🏼

Meet James Kabugo 👋

We’re honored to introduce James Kabugo, who has faithfully served with TCWM since 2013—that’s 12 years of dedicated ministry!

James serves as the Deputy Country Director, faithfully supporting the vision and leadership of TCWM and helping strengthen its impact.

James first heard about TCWM from Pastor Pete in 2013, and since then, he has been passionate about equipping church leaders for effective ministry.

He has been married for five years and is blessed with two children, Anderson Kabugo and Abigail Kabugo.

When asked what he loves most about TCWM, James said, “Teaching pastors who have never had the opportunity to attend school, yet have been called by God to faithfully lead His people.”

James also teaches for TCWM, and some of his favorite topics include Marriage & Family and the Book of Romans—helping leaders grow both spiritually and practically.

We are grateful for James’ heart for pastors, his dedication to the mission, and his passion for seeing leaders grow in their calling!

On this day J. Gresham Machen, the founder of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church, requested that the Presbyterian Board of Foreign Missions maintain doctrinal integrity. This request was rejected by the Presbyterian Church and the resulting controversy led to his establishment of the Westminster Theological Seminary in the US. This is the seminary that Fred Kabenge, Principal of TBI Kapchorwa, received his pastoral education. Let us give thanks today for the teachers and seminarians who “guard the good deposit” and help raise up the next generation of leaders of the faith in both the US and Africa.

My father’s family ran a large farm in central PA, where the common understanding was this: “the work of a farmer is never finished.” To some, that would almost sound depressing, as if you never reached your goals, but to the true farmer at heart, who loved what he did, it could be a delight because they were perfectly content with that daily rhythm. It is the same at TCWM; “the work of a missionary is never finished” ...until Christ returns or calls us home, and that is ok! Why? Because we love the work. We are not scared of hard work, which has eternal meaning and purpose.
