What a wonderful service we had this past Sunday. Pastors Jim and Ann Garvin from Alpharetta , Georgia ministered; while Pastor Christian was away speaking at a conference. What a joy to have Anika Myers visiting from out of state! We had a lot of special singing and some long-time friends of Jim and Ann visited. We heard an inspiring message from pastor Jim and it seemed like homecoming! We are thankful for all God sends our way. We continue to pray for our Vision: To Know Christ as Lord and to make Him Known!

This past Sunday was Mother’s Day and we enjoyed a wonderful sermon by Pastor Van. The sermon was taken from Ephesians 6:1-3 “Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.” A familiar story in the scriptures was concerning Hannah, who had prayed in the temple for a child. So grieved and sad, she vowed to the prophet that if God would let her have a child, she would give the child back for service to the Lord. She kept her promise of dedication and her son, Samuel was a great prophet to Israel during a turbulent time in their history. We look at our world today and see how sin and lawless it is. God’s plan was given to us in the Bible and Jesus poured himself into the disciples to carry out the plan. May each of us be obedient to the call we have on our lives. Mothers and fathers nurture, love and teach your children to honor God. You can encourage them by taking them to church; where God’s people can show his love and care to them! May God’s blessings be with you this week!

We gathered this past Sunday in front of the cross draped in deep purple behind the church. We quietly gathered beneath the cross. We could see the spring flowers bursting through the soil to shine forth and usher in this special morning. There was a stillness in the early minutes before the sun came up. Then, as the light caused the darkness to dissipate, the stillness was broken by new sounds of God’s creation. It had been two years since we were able to gather together in this setting for Easter. What a blessing to be together and feel the nearness of our risen Lord. As we sang the wonderful hymn, He Lives, He Lives, our hearts were lifted to a higher level of communion with our Lord and Savior and soon coming King!

Our hearts on Sunday were strengthened by the wonderful Twenty Third psalm. In a world that is filled with violence and chaos, we look to the Shepherd of our souls for guidance and comfort. On days that bring uncertainty and challenge our faith, we remember the words, “He leadeth me beside the still waters and restores my soul.” I hold fast to these words from our Shepherd as his promises are true! As we follow him, he leads us in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. As we follow the psalm, we find the love and testimony of a living God that is bestowing his love to us daily. May we continue to look to the one who gave all to give us life eternal and calls us his children! His Kingdom come......His will be done!
