What a beautiful day this past Sunday to be in the Lord’s house. The time change where we fall back an hour occurred; so, for some, it will take a little time getting use to. Our service was so good. Pastor Van’s sermon was titled ‘God Loves us Lavishly” and the scripture came from 1 John 3:1-3 Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us,
That we should be called children of God! Therefore, the world does not know us, because it did not know him. 2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when he is revealed, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. 3 And everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure.

How long has God loved us? From the foundation of the world. So personal is his love to us that he bestows his love, grace and mercy lavishly daily. We live in a world that does not honor God and tries to discourage us from having a relationship with him. While we all make mistakes, our God is forgiving and through our acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord of our lives, we have the Holy Spirit who lives in us and guides us daily. God does not walk away from us. Often we carry guilt and we can let it separate us from God but his word states that nothing will separate us from the love that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Oh, what a beautiful promise. May we seek new opportunities to share God’s love and good news to the lost; that in accepting Jesus Christ as savior, we can stand boldly and proclaim our inheritance as children of the most high God!

We ask that you pray for our country, prayers for Israel and against any powers or principalities that would come against God or his children!

Come visit with us at Pleasant Grove anytime you can!
