’Twas the night before homecoming, and all through the town, The Tigers of Dadeville were winding down.
The bonfire was roaring, the spirit was bright,
The pep rally had filled the air with delight.
Coach McKelvey had just finished his speech,
His words of motivation, like victory within reach.
Principal Dr. Cochran, with a grin on his face,
Knew tomorrow’s parade would be the talk of the place.
The team was ready, all snug in their beds,
While visions of touchdowns danced in their heads.
The Childersburg Tigers would soon come to play,
But Dadeville’s pride would carry the day.
The cheerleaders practiced, their moves full of flair,
Ready to pump up the crowd everywhere.
The parade was set, with floats in a line,
Dadeville’s tradition, a cherished design.
And as the sun rose on homecoming day,
They started it right in the best kind of way.
Gathered for breakfast, with hearts full of cheer,
They prayed to Jesus, their Savior so dear.
With faith as their armor, they knew they were strong,
In prayer and devotion, they couldn’t go wrong.
The day was before them, with challenges ahead,
But the strength of the Lord is what carried them instead.
The homecoming day would be one for the books,
With the Tigers prepared for their victory hooks.
So here’s to the night before the big game,
Where everyone in town feels just the same.
Homecoming in Dadeville, a tradition so dear,
Where Tigers’ roars echo far and near.
Tomorrow they’d battle on that field so green,
And the homecoming victory? It was already seen!
