Te invito a nuestro nuevo reto parroquial de 33 días en la cual estaremos profundizando sobre el poder redemptivo del sufrimiento. Comenzaremos el viernes, 26 de junio, de 6:30 a 9:30 pm en la parroquia de Santa Rita, y luego por 33 días estaremos reflexionando sobre nuestra capacidad de convertir sufrimientos en ofrendas por medio del Cristo Eucaristico para el bien de nuestros seres queridos.

I invite you to our new 33-day parish challenge, where we will be deepening our understanding of the redeeming power of suffering. We will begin on Saturday, June 27, from 9:00am-Noon at St. Rita Parish, and then for 33 days, we will reflect on our ability to turn suffering into offerings through the Eucharistic Christ for the well-being of our loved ones.

Today's Gospel has a strong connection to a passage we heard proclaimed during Lent: the story of Jesus and the Samaritan woman. At the conclusion of that passage, the woman runs back to town to tell everyone about what Jesus has told her. As the townspeople begin to make their way out to the well to see Jesus, he tells the Twelve to "lift up [their] eyes, and see the fields are white for harvest." What were they looking at? The white head coverings and clothing of the Samaritans.

It's a good reminder that often, the people we are supposed to speak the Word to are RIGHT in front of us.
⁣
Today, let's ask the Lord for the strength to proclaim his Word to our neighbors here within the boundaries of St Rita.
