The present psychology is not Christ centered, it’s religious materialism. It’s the result of prosperity preaching. It’s not truth based, it’s materialistic and as you said, transactional. Especially our praise and worship. “If God paid your bills, put money in your pockets, healed your body…give him praise…”
What do you do when the bill isn’t paid and the lights are off and your car is repossessed and you get evicted and divorce is inevitable???? Is God not worthy anymore of praise????
