Did you know the word “Rosary” means “Crown of Roses”?

Tradition holds that every time you pray a Hail Mary, you’re giving Our Lady a single rose. Pray a full Rosary, and you’ve placed an entire crown of roses at her feet. 🌹

Our third graders just lived this out in real life, growing real flowers all year long to lay before Mary as a gift.

As Saint Padre Pio said, “The Rosary is the weapon for these times.”

Today, we invite you to give Our Lady a rose of your own. One Hail Mary. One rose. One prayer at a time.

Eve said no to God. Mary said a perfect yes.

Today the Church celebrates the Nativity of our Blessed Virgin Mary, the new Eve. Fr. Kevin reminds us her yes gives us the pattern for our own. We are all written into God’s plan of salvation too, and we live it out the way Mary did: surrendering each day, giving our will to His will.

Save this for the next time you need reminding that your yes matters. Tag someone who needs to hear it today.

Happy Feast of the Nativity of Mary 🤍

In today’s homily, Fr. Kevin walks through what our readings teach us about confronting those who have harmed us. Not to win an argument or prove ourselves right, but because, as St. Augustine says, love is desiring the good of the other.

It’s easier said than done. We’re not naturally confrontational people. But we’re called to pray for the courage to confront in love, and the wisdom to know how, so that we can help lead others back to Christ.

“If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone.” Matthew 18:15

“She’s healed so she can go forth and serve.” ✝️

In yesterday’s homily, Fr. Kevin pointed out something easy to miss in this Gospel: Jesus doesn’t heal Peter’s mother-in-law so she can rest, He heals her so she can serve.

So what’s keeping you from serving more fully? Illness. Sinfulness. Selfishness. Whatever it is, ask the Lord to heal you of it today, not for your own comfort, but so you can go forth and serve others.

Where is God calling you to serve this week? 🙏🏻

We’ve been conditioned to distrust authority. 👀

But God’s authority isn’t like ours. It’s never self-serving. Never oppressive. It’s there to set us free.

Fr. Kevin invites us to look at the little places in our hearts where we’re still rebellious, still doing it our way, not quite ready to submit to the Lord or His Church.

Today’s a good day to ask: where am I stuck? Where am I holding back trust?

“Why does the Catholic Church have so many rules?” 😳

Fr. Kevin answers the question every Catholic gets asked at daily Mass today, and it’s simpler than you think.

Growing up, your parents probably never wrote it down, but you knew: don’t touch the hot stove. Not because they wanted to control you. Because they loved you and didn’t want you to get burned.

That’s exactly why God gives us commands. Not to restrict us, but to protect us and draw us closer to Him. 🔥➡️❤️

As today’s psalm says: “Lord, I love your commands.” 🙏🏻

Save this for the next time someone asks you why Catholics have “so many rules.”

Suffering isn’t something to escape. It’s something to offer.

Culture says to avoid it, chase pleasure, do whatever feels good. Christ says something harder and truer: take up your cross and follow Him.

When we unite our suffering to His, it doesn’t go to waste. It becomes redemptive, just like His was. Even after our sins are forgiven in Confession, there’s still temporal punishment left to pay, and that offered suffering can take time off purgatory. It also builds up the whole Body of Christ. ❤️‍🔥

Every day we get the same choice Fr. Kevin talked about this weekend: follow the culture, or wholeheartedly follow Jesus. Only one leads to real peace now and joy that lasts forever.

What will you choose? 🕊️
