✝️ CARRY YOUR CROSS — PART 2

Sometimes the cross gets heavy—but we are still called to carry it.

The good news is, we were never meant to carry it in our own strength. When we have a relationship with Jesus Christ, He gives us the strength, grace, and endurance to keep going—even when obedience is difficult.

But what does carrying your cross actually look like?

It looks like loving your neighbor—even when they’re difficult to love.
It looks like blessing those who persecute you.
It looks like forgiving when your flesh wants to hold a grudge.
It looks like refusing to compromise just to fit into culture.
It looks like choosing God’s will over your own desires.
It looks like refusing to conform to the patterns of this world and remaining aligned with the Kingdom of God.

📖 “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind…” — Romans 12:2

Carrying your cross means remembering WHO you are and WHOSE you are. You are a child of the Most High King, and your life should reflect the King you belong to. 👑

We don’t live according to our own will—we surrender to His will, His Word, and His way.

The cross may get heavy, but keep carrying it. ✝️

✝️ CARRY YOUR CROSS

Pastor Johnson has been teaching a powerful series entitled “More Than a Fan,” challenging us to move beyond simply admiring Jesus to truly following Him.

This past Sunday, Pastor reminded us that following Christ comes with a cross. Sometimes that cross feels heavy. Sometimes it requires sacrifice, surrender, obedience, and denying ourselves—but Jesus gave us clear instructions:

📖 “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.” — Luke 9:23

We weren’t called to carry our cross only when it’s convenient. We are called to carry it DAILY.

So, Sweet Home family, the question for today is simple:

Are you carrying your cross—or have you put it down because it got too heavy?

Keep carrying. Keep following. Keep trusting. Your cross is part of your commitment to Christ. ✝️

📚 PAUSE & PRAY: BACK TO SCHOOL 2026–2027 🙏🏾

As students prepare to return to school, we’re taking a moment to pause and pray over the year ahead.

We’re covering our students, teachers, administrators, support staff, custodians, counselors, bus drivers, parents and caregivers—and every person who has a hand in the care, education, safety, and success of our students.

May God grant wisdom, protection, patience, strength, and peace throughout this school year. May our schools be places where students are safe, supported, challenged, and encouraged to become all God has called them to be.

“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” — Proverbs 16:3
