Following the Father’s Day storm, I let our church family know about storm damage at the home of a widow in our community. A small group of workers assembled on that hot Father’s Day to help her out. God’s love and compassion is expressed through his people.
“Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.” James 1:27

God makes it clear in the bible that widows are dear to his heart. He often links care for the widows with care for the orphans, two vulnerable people groups.

~Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you. James 1:27 NLT
