Do we have your baby photo? We’re collecting diapers for Santa Maria Urban Ministry & YOUR baby photo! On September 13th we will build a pyramid of diapers & we’ll see who makes the most correct guesses of the photos to win a prize. When you send your photo to Donna, and it is posted, you’ll get at least one correct answer! You can order the diapers online & send them directly to the office.

We are blessed by another Eagle Scout project! We will soon have a new brick patio outside the south alcove side of the Parish Hall. Later a door will go in giving us access to it and opening up a new outdoor space. Jorge and Graham, along with Steve, are working closely with the scout and his project which will gain him the highest rank in scouting. Only 4% of scouts attain this.

Today Rev. Annalise asked us if any of us had ever been hungry. I don’t recall anyone raising their hands. Jesus said, Feed my Sheep.

A visit to St. James’s park after church today was a new experience for me. I printed 400 of our Food Resource Booklets, half in Spanish. I also took our Rental & Eviction resource card. Food not Bombs serves food in the park every Sunday from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm. Carrying one box over I was stopped twice to ask what was in the box (sorry not food, but something better!) Food not Bombs, has a well organized system, serving food items under a purple canopy to any who wanted it, and a lot did. St. Jude’s is now a part of this outreach. Our leftover booklets were slated for the San Jose Peace & Justice Center. Volunteers are welcome. Donna can give you contact information.

We are collecting diapers for Santa Maria Urban Ministry until September 13th. They are in need of sizes 4, 5, 6, & 7. While we do that, we’re going to have a bit of fun! Give your baby or youngster photo secretly to Donna. She will make a copy & return the original. On September 13th, we’ll see who can make the most correct guesses! Let’s fill up the poster!
