What does a disciple of Jesus look like?

There is no formula or rubric for following Jesus. The Bible, though, describes what a person's life looks like: Kingdom values, ethics, and behaviors that flow from union with Christ.

A disciple of Jesus is someone who:
▫️ Cherishes God's Word
▫️ Communes with God in Prayer
▫️ Worshipful Heart
▫️ Denies Self & Obeys God
▫️ Builds Healthy Relationships
▫️ Serves Others
▫️ Makes Disciples

As brothers and sisters, we are formed into the likeness of Jesus in community. Come join us!

Our Commission

Proverbs 3:5-6

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths."

With everything we have, we trust our gracious God. Maybe it's day by day (or even moment by moment), we run to the Lord and cast our cares upon Him. With prayerful surrender and faith-filled action, we take one step at a time in trust.

Gospel Partnership

"I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. Doxa Church is so thankful for our sending church, Grace Fellowship of South Forsyth , and the partnership we have in the gospel. We both exist to make disciples of Jesus here in this community and we praise God for love, support, prayers, and partnership as we go forth.

God Provides
"Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord."
1 Corinthians 1:31

God loves to work in mysterious ways to make Himself known. He always provides what we need in His timing - for His glory and our good. He is making us more like Jesus all along the way, even in unexpected ways! It's been a blessing to glean such wisdom from the book of John preaching series.

John 21:12-13

"Jesus said to them, 'Come and have breakfast.' Now none of the disciples dared ask him, 'Who are you?' They knew it was the Lord. Jesus came and took the bread and gave it to them, and so with the fish."

Jesus appeared to his disciples after His resurrection and provided for them unexpectedly and abundantly! Jesus invited His disciples to come sit and eat with Him, to be near and be at rest....their natural response, "IT IS THE LORD!"

God cares for us and provides for us; we can trust Him for all our needs.Join us as we finish our series in the book of John verse by verse.
