This Sunday we start a new series titled Kings and Prophets. It will explore that God kept His promise and brought His people into their own land. To show His love for His people, God raised up leaders called judges. He also raised up prophets to give the people His messages and to remind them that He is their ruler. But God’s people looked around and saw other nations and wanted to be like them. So God allowed His people to have kings to rule over them, and in return God asked those kings to follow Him. Through the stories of kings and prophets, kids will see how God is in charge and that He is the one who is always with us.

We’ll be learning and memorizing Psalm 46:10–11 (NIV): Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth. The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.
