What a holy and historic week. ✨ Our North Georgia United Methodist family gathered in Athens last week for the Annual Conference of the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church. It was a time of worship, prayer, and holy conferencing.

Among the week's milestones, the conference voted to unify the North Georgia and South Georgia Annual Conferences, a decision affirmed by 96% of North Georgia. South Georgia voted to unify on June 1, with 96.6% in favor. Two conferences, long woven from the same Wesleyan cloth, taking a faithful step toward becoming one.

North Georgia also elected 25 clergy and 25 laity to represent us at the upcoming General and Jurisdictional Conferences. We give thanks for all who answered the call to serve, and we're especially proud to lift up North East District Lay Leader Lee Highsmith among those elected.

Kendall officially joined our staff this week as our new Director of Communications. A proud UGA grad, she holds a Bachelor of Arts in Advertising and a minor in Media and Design.

Vacation Bible School is almost here, and we can’t wait for an amazing week full of fun, learning, and time growing in faith together! 🙌✨
