Members of the Coal Mountain Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints congratulate our Jewish friends at Congregation Beth Israel for the opening of the Jacques Preis & Evelyne Salama Youth Education Center. This beautiful center, 10 years in the making, was officially opened on August 9, 2026. Over 500 congregation members, community dignitaries, and friends attended the ribbon cutting ceremony and celebration. Stake members President Hansen and his family, Mark Sweetwood, and Amanda Weishar and her family were honored to be at the Ribbon cutting. We send congratulations and best success wishes to Rabbi and Chaish Mentz.

We are thankful to have participated in a donation of 30,000 lbs of food from our church humanitarian department to The Place.

Their work in serving those in need throughout Forsyth and Dawson counties is a blessing to our community. We are grateful for Deborah Ross, and for the many staff and volunteers who quietly serve others each day.

We are reminded of the Savior’s invitation to “love one another.”
