WLA Living Word Christian Church

WLA Living Word Christian Church Bilingual Worship Service 9 AM Sunday
Bilingual Bible Study 7:30PM Friday We believe that God will provide the resources necessary to fulfill His commandment.

WLA Living Word Christian Church (WLALWCC) believes that the Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-21) is the priority responsibility for the church today. We as believers need to have a willingness of heart to go and do. Many people think that in order to obey the Great Commission, they must pack up everything they own and travel to some distant, foreign land. Although there is a need for people to go

to foreign countries, it is also as close as your backyard, neighborhood, school or workplace. Another myth is that you have to meet certain criteria in order to do this type of work. That is simply not true! The word of God never gave us a checklist of things we must attain before spreading the good news of Jesus Christ. Young, old, fat, thin, educated scholars, high school graduates, housewives and even our young people; all play a major role in the Great Commission. God uses all who are willing to obey him to reach people who have need of His salvation. For example: A young person of 15 years of age will be able to speak and relate to his/her peers, that is something that a 45 years old would not most likely do. A person of 60 years will be able to minister to someone of their generation better than a young person of 20. God needs all of us, exactly where we are, to obey Him with a willing heart. We should never look to mission work a putting numbers on a score card of good works. God’s Words says some plant, some water but God gets the increase. There is an old saying ” Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day, but Teach a man to fish and he will feed his family for a lifetime.” It is our position that this is a very wise and true statement. The most effective way to impact a community with the Word of God is to train the Pastors who live in those communities. Please pray for us to continue to seek God’s will in our mission work and for His divine protection.

Scripture Reference: 2 Thessalonians 2:1-8
We are looking at the first of three general areas that will help us to affirm a pre-tribulation rapture of the Church.
1. The nature of the Church.
2. The nature of the tribulation.
3. The nature of the 2nd coming.
And as the events that lead up to the end of the Church Age and the events that begin to take place, we, the Church still have a crucial role to play throughout these signs of the end-times.
We must remain confident in the promises that God gave the Church and watch as these signs become evident.
1. (v.2) Not being shaken from your composure
2. (v.3) The apostasy comes first
3. (v.3) The man of lawlessness is revealed
4. (v.6,7) The restrainer is mentioned.

Title: We have been given newness of life! Part #13
Scripture Reference: James 1:18-25
(v.18) begins by telling us that by God’s will and His word, He gave us the newness of life.
Just as a newborn baby is a new life that has come into the world, we have been born again by the “word of truth” (the gospel).
And James goes on the say that God did this so that “so that we would be a kind of first fruits among His creatures.”

Scripture Reference: John 6:66-71
We are now down to our last passage of (John 6) and we have taken a detour into what happens in the hearts of those who reject Jesus Christ as Lord.
What Jesus is bringing to not only His people but to the world is salvation from the righteous wrath of God.
That’s what we deserve when we stand before a true, Holy, and righteous God and our creator as unrepented sinners.
That’s what we deserve when we stand before a true, Holy, and righteous God and our creator as unrepentant sinners.

Scripture Reference: 2 Peter 1:3-10
Peter opens his letter to the churches with a warm blessing of grace and peace,
but in (v.3), Peter continues what he said in (v.2) about having a true knowledge of God and the calling that we have on our lives.
Remember that Peter is speaking to churches that have been harshly persecuted for their faith, as well as having false teachings that have come from people within the church.
This was so important to understand because, like many churches today, the gospel is being watered down or compromised so that it isn’t even recognizable as the true gospel of salvation.

Scripture Reference: Romans 8:29-30
Does God have the right to choose?
This question came up because of the decisions of so many of the disciples of Jesus in (John 6) who became unbelievers when Jesus began to tell them the truths of the gospel.
These truths all pointed to Jesus, the Son of God making salvation available to all through His own life being sacrificed by the breaking of His body and the shedding of His blood.
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Rom8.29-30&version=NASB

Scripture Reference: 2 Corinthians 6:1-10
We learned previously that the Church is now responsible for spreading the gospel to the whole world.
This responsibility comes to us by the grace of God, and we are to be committed to this task as an act of obedience to God.
This is why in (v.1) Paul says, “we also urge you not to receive the grace of God in vain.”
Meaning that, God did not command us to accomplish His will for us to fail in that task.
He has already given us everything we need to succeed in keeping His commands.
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2%20Corinthians%206%3A1-10&version=NASB

Scripture Reference: John 6:61-65
This week, we’re going to begin with (v.61-65) as we’re coming to the end of (John 6).
Jesus first spoke to the large crowd of people beginning at (v.26), then He addressed to Jews that were present and always nearby to harass Jesus,
and then Jesus spoke to those who called disciples who were those that followed His teachings but their faith in Jesus was tested by the things that He told them as He admonished them.
And this is where Jesus begins to expose why they are so offended by the words that He was saying to them.
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John+6%3A61-65&version=NASB

Scripture Reference: 2 Corinthians 6:1-10
Last time, we focused on (v.1) where Paul urges us to “not to receive the grace of God in vain,”
Which led Paul to recall (Isaiah 49:8)
This verse from (Isaiah) was intended for Israel to hear and understand.
God brought salvation to Israel out of bo***ge from Egypt, but the prophet’s message speaks of “a day of salvation” that began with the ministry of Christ.
Then, before Jesus ascended, He gave all of us The Great Commission, which commands us to make disciples.
We, the Church, are now responsible for spreading the gospel to the whole world.
Paul says it best in (2 Corinthians 5:18)
2 Corinthians 5:18-19 (NASB)
18 Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation,

Scripture Reference: John 6:59-63
In our last study session, we were at the point in (John 6) where Jesus was confronting the people who had been following His for some time.
They followed him throughout the region of Galilee, hearing His teachings and benefitting from the miracles He and His disciples had performed among them. (John 4, 5, 6)
He has performed the largest miracle in proportion by feeding the 5000, or more accurately approximately 25,000 people. (John 6;12-14)
Then we get to the point of Jesus having to confront the people who had become His disciples, not because of His teaching, or the many healings that He and His disciples performed.
But because of what Jesus said of them in (John 6:26)
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John+6%3A59-63&version=NASB

Reference scripture: 2 Corinthians 6:1-10
This is a continuation of the Spiritual Maturity series.
The apostle Paul was concerned about the spiritual maturity of the churches that He founded during His ministry.
He worked very hard to give good, solid teaching of the word of God at a time when there were many attacks against the churches.
And this was evident in the Church of Corinth.

Scripture Reference: John 6:48-51
We now come to the point in the story where Jewish rulers take offense at what Jesus is telling them about Himself.
In the previous teaching, Jesus says that He is the bread of life.
Jesus’s words offended the people who had previously been called disciples. Not the 12, but all the townspeople from the region of Galilee where Jesus was from.
