Whee Read will be here before we know it!

This summer, rising 1st through 3rd graders will be joining us to sharpen their reading skills, and we are looking for volunteers to support them.

There are two great ways you can get involved:

📖 Reading Buddies: Spend just 30 minutes reading one-on-one with a child! We need volunteers on Thursdays and Fridays from 12:30 PM – 1:00 PM. You can sign up for just one session or as many as you’d like.

🍳 Meal Support: Help fuel our young readers! We are looking for volunteers to provide and serve breakfast (7:30 AM – 8:00 AM) or lunch (11:30 AM – 12:00 PM) on select days. More details can be found in the sign up link.

Whether you can come once a week or every time, your time makes a massive impact on these students!

The youth also had their end of school year picnic. The photographer didn’t take many photos as she was beating everyone in ultimate frisbee, volleyball, and basketball 🧺🏐🏀😋

Congratulations to the 10 graduates of Cullowhee Kids preschool who graduated last night! Thank you to the teachers, staff, and parents for a great year! Look out Kindergarten, here they come! 🎓🌈💕

Friends, slots are beginning to fill in but we still need plenty of help to make our 2026 Whee Read summer literacy camp a success. Read with a student for 30 minutes during your lunch hour on Thursdays and Fridays or help us out with some of the meals. Sign up and find more info at the link below.
