Cullman County may experience a high-impact winter weather event beginning Friday evening through the weekend, including wintry precipitation, hazardous travel, possible power outages, and dangerously cold temperatures.❄️

Now is the time to prepare.

In partnership with Cullman County EMA and United Way of Cullman County, Cullman County VOAD is sharing critical preparedness information and warming station locations to help keep our community safe.

WARMING STATIONS OPENING FRIDAY, JANUARY 23
• Vinemont Baptist Church – North Cullman (6 PM)
• Dodge City Town Hall – Basement (5 PM)
• Donald Green Center – Cullman City (7 PM–7 AM)
• Trinity Pentecostal Church – Hanceville (6 PM)

According to the National Weather Service, this system could bring ice accumulation, dangerous road conditions, and life-threatening cold, with wind chills possibly dropping into the single digits or below zero.

Prepare. Don’t panic. Look out for one another.

❄️ Warming Station Information – City of Cullman ❄️

When forecasted temperatures are expected to reach 28°F or below, the City of Cullman may open one warming station at the Donald E. Green Active Adult Center (1625 Cleveland Ave SW) from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Individuals planning to stay overnight must arrive by 9:00 p.m. If no guests are present by that time, the facility will be secured, and a sign with a contact phone number will be posted for those in need of shelter. Guests should bring their own sleeping items. This location is intended for public warming only and will be staffed by a police officer for security. Please continue to monitor the Cullman County EMA and local news outlets for updates during periods of extreme cold.
