Our church has taken up financial support for several missionary families throughout the world, working in areas such as Bible translation and church planting. Here’s a map that I created showing where they serve. We are privileged to be part of their work. Have you considered a future ministry in missions? The harvest is great but the workers are often way too few.

A Taste of Last Sunday’s Message from Galatians 3:1-5
About fifteen years ago a wonderful elderly couple gave my wife and I a beautiful set of cutlery. I could have taken one of the steak knives and chopped down the oak tree in my front yard. They had been sharpened to perfection. I’ll admit I haven’t been good about keeping them up, and now they are rather dull.
We all have stories to tell of someone we know who has grown “dull” over the years. They’re saved! We generally don’t doubt that because we were there when they got saved. We were there when they got baptized. Or we witnessed their spiritual confidence in the Lord during those days. It may be your dad or mom. It may be a grown child. An ex-wife or ex-husband. A friend. Perhaps we even know what happened to bring about the spiritual dullness in their life. They fell in with the wrong crowd. A tragic event made them bitter. Their hobby or job became their idol, and before long they had become dull.
I’ve seen it so many times—almost like they fell into a hypnotic state. They have been put to sleep by the “magic” of the world. The great news is that God is working in their lives, and I am hopeful that they will return to the Lord. Perhaps after children are born. Perhaps after hitting rock bottom. Perhaps in direct response to your prayers. But they know the truth, and for now, our role is to remind them of that truth as we are able.
Galatians 3:1, “O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth?”

A Taste of Last Sunday’s Message from Galatians 1:11-24
Paul tells us about his life as an apostle, persecutor, Pharisee, Christian and preacher. Here are five takeaways from his life.

Paul the Apostle
Don’t let the doubts or criticisms of others affect your calling from God.
V. 15, “God … separated me from my mother’s womb and called me through His grace.”

Paul the Persecutor
No matter how passionate or sincere you may be about your convictions, don’t express them in ways that hurt others.
V. 13, “I … tried to destroy [the church].”

Paul the Pharisee
Don’t pursue the approval of others, but only the approval of God.
V. 14, “I advanced in Judaism beyond many of my contemporaries … being more exceedingly zealous for the traditions of my fathers.”

Paul the Christian
No one’s past leaves him beyond the reach of God’s grace or makes her useless in God’s service.
Vs. 13, 16, “I persecuted the church of God beyond measure,” but God “[revealed] His Son in me that I might preach Him among the Gentiles.”

Paul the Preacher
Don’t depend on others for what you learn or teach about the Bible—study your Bible instead.
V. 11, “The gospel which was preached by me is not according to man.”

Our Back to School Bash—at least eight families and fifteen children attended our recent school supplies give-a-way with Walmart gift cards, free backpacks, notebooks, folders and more. We enjoyed meeting everyone who came and we look forward to seeing you again at future events.
