Pentecost is the birthday of the church, because it is on this day we remember the 11 being clothed with power to fulfill the Great Commission given to them by Jesus.

We, as disciples of Christ, share not only Christ's commission and commands, but also the same power to do God's works as those original apostles! Let us be clothed in power for the betterment of God's Kingdom now and forever.

Ascension Sunday remembers and celebrates the fact that we do not serve a dead man, but a Living God! Jesus ascended into Heaven, and promises us the same, yet he gives us commands while we are still here.

If we are believers in Jesus, than we must be more than ONLY believers. We must be disciples, seeking to learn and grow in Christ, and then, beyond this, witnesses. No matter who you are or what you do, you have a life that can be a testimony, a witness, to the glory of God to others!
