"Be careful little tongue what you say"
There was a frog who wanted to go south for the winter. He had no means of getting there, but among his friends were a couple of ganders. When it came time for the geese to fly south, the frog found a stout piece of string and persuaded his two fine-feathered friends to each take one end in their mouth, while he, with his strong jaws, seized the string in the middle. They took off and everything was going well until they flew over a farmer who looked up, was astonished by what he saw, and asked, “Who in the world came up with that idea?” The frog heard this and unable to restrain his impulse, opened his mouth and answered, “I.” The farmer had frog legs for dinner. “Death and life are in the power of the tongue” (Prov. 18.21). Words have the power to destroy. Our words have the power to burn to cinders every relationship we sustain (Jas. 3.1–12). We best be careful what we say; every careless word we speak will come back to haunt us. (Matt. 12:35) Kenny Chumbley, Pastor and friend of Doug’s
